Excessive Toe-out Rear Alignment

After searching and reading ive been led to post this.. now groupthink!

My rear left wheel is consistently at -0.96 deg

I’ve chewed through 4 sets of ko2’s prematurely, approx 20k avg each set. Not sure why I am now getting to this, but better late than never?

History: 2016, truck was in an accident at 7.6k, I bought it and got it road worthy and now it’s at 100k mi.

Repairs in 2016: control arm mount replaced remounted, replaced control arm, rear axle shaft

Thinking out loud:

Possible problem?
Control arm mount not welded perfectly?

Possible solutions?
Bent axle housing
??

What should my next step be? I want my next set of tires to last longer..

Latest alignment

Rear control arm mount now

Tire wear (front passenger was in the rear left before rotation)

Damage in 2016

It's unlikely the rear arm has anything to do with it. If the axle was located improperly, you'd see the inverse on the other wheel since the axle is a solid member across.

Most likely cause is a bent axle.

If it were me - I'd take it to a body shop and have them put your 4Runner on their frame rack. With it properly located on the rack, they can take accurate measurements to confirm if everything is in the correct location and measurements to other locations on the vehicle are correct. All vehicle frames have location marks as reference points for this purpose.

I had a bent rear axle housing when someone drown in to my rear tire at an intersection. It wasn't caught initially until they tried to align it.

I agree with the above-- it needs a good review on a rack. A bent axle housing is not unheard of--- I recall others on this forum had it happen too.

4 years later with the replaced housing, and I've had no issues. It was a ***** to get one with the KDSS tabs on it though. Looks like you won't have that issue.

A body shop (competent one) should be able to measure the two axle flanges for being parallel with each other, within a tolerance spec.

Your straight axle is bent. Negative toe on one side has to equal positive toe of equal amount on the other side if you have a straight axle. Repeatable alignment numbers confirm this. If you had just a bent frame or improperly welded control arm mount then adjustable control arms would be an easy fix to compensate.
