...anyway, back on topic...
I find that the auto headlights feature works pretty well on undivided roads.
If the sensors pick up the occasional stop lights that break up the monotony of a dark small town highway at night your brights will stay off... which can be annoying if you wanted them.
Long story short, its not a feature I NEED, or even wanted, but I can see it being handy when my (currently non-existent) lady is driving us home after a long trip that bleeds into the night on dark roads so I don't have to keep telling her to check her brights (If I'm even awake at that point).

Its funny, I haven't been IN a '20 4Runner yet, but from the pics and what I've heard it looks exactly like the Tacoma. I have to say, my wife has a '19 Tacoma, and some of the little "extras" it has I don't like too much. I'm happy with the layout of my 4Runner, even with the ancient touchscreen tech the radio uses.

The 20 is the same exact truck as the 15-19, except is has “car play” and “safety sense” garbage for all the man bun wearing hipsters. They are very easy to spot by the butthurt the have when i make comments about how lame the 4runner is. They also make threads about the “new” colors coming out lol.
One of them wants to make-out with me.
Weirdo’s.

These light threads, and there are like 1000 of them it seems, get weirder and weirder and weirder.

Haha your lack of knowledge on the differences is comical and your justification for your current older vehicle versus the same vehicle with improvements and changes is sad. Often times its the biggest dummy in the room that lies to himself to make themselves feel better. Its probably genetic, so don't blame yourself too much.

You live in a fantasy land. Wash off the lipstick, go outside and breath some fresh air. Not everyone has to agree with you, everything will be ok.

Having a differing opinion is obviously fine, especially here on Al Gore's internet. You talked shit to someone because they asked about their new car, so don't be surprised when you get it back. You pretending to be alpha and/or tough is really embarrassing (especially when you wouldn't say any of that ridiculous nonsense to someone in person), even more than your logic or the lack thereof. I can't tell if you're a really young, uneducated kid or an older, angry, uneducated one. Either way, its apparent that you're not clever or intelligent. A lot of the times, having a life less worthwhile is one's own fault. Don't be mad at others for it. Good luck.

Seems slow to respond on my 2020 SR5P, I'm still used to manually flipping high beams on/off.
I also wished the SR5P had auto low beam headlights though.

I've found they're just too slow for comfort. I tend to anticipate oncoming vehicles since I can see their headlights as I approach a bend (for example) and turn off my high beams, where as the system needs to wait until it sees headlights to turn off. For me that's unacceptable because I'm still blinding someone for a brief moment.
I haven't messed with them on long straight sections of road with oncoming vehicles, but my general rule of thumb is if I can see headlights my highs are off. Even if they're a point light in the distance approaching me.
I would have much rather preferred to have auto-headlights (on/off) than auto-high beams.
Side note: this thread is a perfect example of how people get off topic and just start talking trash on forums for no reason. I might be new here, but I'm not new to automotive forums. It's exhausting. In some ways I wish there was comment moderation, but I recognize that would be a lot of work.

I don't find them to be all that helpful, they work, but my instincts on when to turn to low beams differs from the machine so I'm regularly feeling like it isn't right.
I would have much rathered they gave us auto on/off headlights like every other car I have owned in the last decade.
That said if you are looking for features to justify a 2020 I really like CarPlay and auto cruise control. Both are great for long drives and CarPlay plus Gaia GPS app gives you off road trail maps in your head unit.

How are you finding Gaia with Carplay? I can't seem to be able to get it to display my routes...
And to keep on topic, the Pro and Limited have auto on/off headlights so it's available in 2020, just trim dependent.

How does this help answer the OP's question? There are people on this forum that are here to learn and don't want to hear your mocking BS.

I bet you scream at your neighbor if a few leaves fall into your yard from their tree.
