Service recommendation Seattle, WA?
I am curious if anyone has a recommendation for a good shop to service my 2015 Trail edition 4Runner in Seattle, ideally near Beacon Hill/Georgetown? I have used the local dealer in the past, but of course feel like there must be cheaper options.
My vehicle has under 45K and needs the regular scheduled service, but also the AC is acting up again. Two years ago the AC stopped blowing cold air, I had it filled (not by the dealer), and now it is blowing warm air again. I know I can fill this pretty easily myself, but don't want to if it is just going to leak again.
I did try searching the forum for recommended service locations in Seattle without much luck. The dealer is close and I can take it to them easily, but just want to see if anyone has recommendations for reputable shops that might be cheaper before I do that.
Thanks a ton!

Don’t be cheap. Take it to a good dealer. Rodland in Everett is grt but I had a good experience with the sodo one too. Avoid magic in Lynnwood like the plague.

Does Seattle exist anymore? I thought it was burned down by the creepy liberals. Unless dealer comes to you to service the vehicle, best to have a 12 guage at the ready because the police are being defunded.

Always funny seeing who gets their news from where. I'm sure Fox's commercial break is over now, should probably tune back in.

I've always had good experiences with Toyota of Lake City. My 2013 TE has been serviced by them for the past 5 years.
I second the opinion that Magic Toyota is terrible!

Yeah, ill just take it to the local dealer, its very close. I want the AC fixed correctly so I will hopefully not have to deal with it again.
Guess I just needed to hear it from others that dealers are a reasonable option.
Thanks!

This sound like a problem with your AC system... possibly a leak somewhere.
At 45,000 miles your AC shouldn't need a recharge. I've never had to charge the AC in my 2010 Trail Edition and it still blows cold air.
We live in the Pacific Northwest--- Our AC gets used maybe 10X a year??
FYI... I've taken my 4Runner to Toyota of Kirkland. They do good work but are super expensive.

Haha, yeah my 4Runner grew up in CO so AC was used a lot then. But even in Seattle I use it very often, I dislike the heat. Also, I believe that anytime defrost is on the AC is used to some degree to remove humidity from the air before blowing in on the windshield, but not sure where I heard that or if it is true.
But yeah certainly sounds like there must be a leak somewhere. Its pretty annoying, but I have an appointment next week at the dealership in SoDo so hopefully they can figure it out.

Definitely a leak. They can pressurize the system and chase down leaks, make sure you do that before having it recharged again as you're just tossing away money by recharging when there's still an active leak.
You're correct on the defrost. Big give-away is noticing the condensation under the car on dry winter days just like on hot summer days

TO OP- Agree with others: your AC has a leak and needs to be checked \ repaired, but I would check AC Schrader valves first, it should only take couple minutes.
