Thanks for the great pics . I have a 2010 TE w/KDSS. From what I gather there hasnít been any change underneath with the frame and KDSS system from any of the years . Might have to get these .

Installed these today on my 2021 SR5. I had them loosely bolted up and used a jack to put them as high as possible. On the right side there is a body area sort of like a body mount that sticks down and I found out on the way to dinner that they hit the body on the bumps. Simply loosening the bolts and letting them sit lower in the mounting holes provided ample room. Strangely on the left side of the vehicle the body is shaped slightly different and there is no chance of interference there.

I like the look, can stand on them if needed, fills in the rocker area and gives a finished look.

Thank you so much for the pictures and install notes.

Silly question, but just looking at pictures it looks like these rock rails are a bit shorter then others, like not extending as much from front tire to back. Iím new to all of this, but can someone with more experience and expertise on the matter comment on this vs another set of rails like shrockworks?

I would not compare this to rock sliders from Shrockworks/RCI/RSG/etc. A quick glance at the structural mounts will tell you that these are not nearly as beefy.

The shrockworks are arguably another tier up on the degree of protection. If you are just looking for protection for mild to moderate trails with some crawling in between, I think this would work fine. The aspect that discourages me from equating these to the more expensive options is how the gussets are for the inner/outer tube and how the whole package mounts to the frame. I wouldn't feel entirely confident in them spreading the load out in a heavy hit. That said, still think the product has value when used with certain expectations.

Here's a hefty looking slider from Bay Area Metal Fab (BAMF) (photo from T4R member Rorck). Looks awesome but not everyone needs that level of protection.

Length wise, its a little bit harder to tell from the pics but they seem similar to the RCI ones I use.

Not my picture but heres an RCI set

Quick question about these sliders ... for those who've installed them, how much of a step up do they provide?

They don't really function as a step. You can wedge your toe in there, but you don't really have much of a platform to act as a step.

Just tried to get these installed on a limited. Rocker trim is an issue. But the bigger issue were the XREAS lines. On the slider they had out to show me the problem, two of the mounts had cutouts that went over the KDSS lines in your pics and one had no cutouts and looked like it would block XREAS line. Is the solid mount without the cutouts to the rear or the front for you?

I called up a Toyota store in my area - it is Toyota Mall of Georgia. They had them in stock when I called and the purchase was super easy. (844) - 938 - 3239.

My 2021 ORP with KDSS came with these installed, presumably from the factory based on the sticker. I had to push the dealer a bit to drop off the price of the running boards which were also on the sticker. Obviously not paying for both!

They seem pretty solid to me. Seems like even if they bent, it wouldn't block door from opening and they'd have bend quite a bit to cause body damage. They look strong enough to survive a high lift, but I doubt I'll test that unless I get in situation where it is necessary.

Definitely can't be used as a decent step.

so these would definitely fit my 2012 TE? If so, that rules and I will probably get these.

Another somewhat inexpensive option

I felt these OEM bars would just fold over with those flat mounting attachments. I'm cheap but knew I'd want more for off road and a step for my wife and roof access. I bought these: scroll down to see

Step rock sliders with kick-out and top plate for 2010-2020 Toyota 4Runner | eBay

It cost $735 to my door. Flat with kick out and top plate and beautiful powder coating. I installed myself and everything just fell into place. He has less costly options that are angled without top plates....more like these OEM rock rails, but waaay tougher. PM if you have any questions about my install

This vendor is a realy good communicator. If they are not in stock (mine weren't) he emailed me as soon as he got more
