Yes, if I did Falkens again I would seriously consider SL and they are at a better price point. From what I saw, the SL Falken is a particularly stout tire for a P-metric.

I have had no balancing issues at all (I am ~3,000 miles in, just got back from a trip Denver - Phoenix and back). I think they look badass, and they have been awesome for me on the CO trails.

I used to run Yoko Super Diggers back in the day, great tire, good grip, long lasting. Great "AT" tire, at least my experience with them, then, I never bothered to research why, they just stopped making them. So I switched to Dunflop radial rovers, ugh terrible, then to BFG AT's good but pricey, now on to Goodyears.

I check every now and again to see if they have anything in this market segment.

295/70/17 34in. Only about 1000 miles on these and i like the so far. No actual wheeling yet because most of socal is on fire at the moment. i balanced the wheels myself and zero steering wheel shake. one of the wheels even zeroed out lol (no wheel weights needed)

Are these still treating you well? They are on my shortlist for tires at the moment. I'm going to need tires in the not too distant future. I've been pretty happy with my 255/80 Toyo Rts but thinking I might go a different route this time around.

Yes, still very happy with them. I haven't put much additional mileage on since my big trip back in early September (working from home during the pandemic), but no regrets.

They are maybe a touch louder than the stock Terra Grapplers I think now after some more mileage with them, but nothing overly noticeable (plus I tend to always have my stereo on anyway .

I'm doing a trip up to Moab at Thanksgiving which will be another good check point for them and should do some more weekend stuff down here now that our temperatures are finally dropping below 100 degrees (what a miserable summer it has been).

Yeah this summer has been rough, I have worked the whole year but at least traffic and parking was nice. I didn't venture out much with the influx of forest users (covid campers) and forest fires. But I have been itching to get out and hit some back country. Tires are going to be an issue in the not too distant future though.

My Toyo's have always been noisier than the stock tires. Not a ton but as they wear they are getting to hum quite a bit.

I did consider the new YOKO but went with ATZ P3 in March. I had SL Wildpeaks before. The Wildpeaks were fine everywhere between Sedona and the Canadian border. They proved too weak in the Sonoran desert with three punctures total, all in the SW part of the state: two near Kofa, one on the Harquahala Peak trail. SW CO's rocks are mild (water, rounded) and I never had issues with the SL Wildpeaks in Southern Utah or around Sedona or in Montana.

In addition, the LTE ATZ P3 work better with my stiff suspension than the SL Wildpeaks did. The latter were great with stock suspension and 600lb front springs on the Bilstein 6112 but once I moved to 650lb springs, ride quality was better with the LTE as the heavier tire helps soften up the stiff suspension on small chop.

I suppose your Yoko is working really well with your Fox suspension?

Great choice of tire for the desert and in general, that's for sure.

I would probably be worried with any hybrid tire in slush but, yeah, not exactly a concern around here.

Installing the new Hankook Dynapro AT2 RF11's on Thursday. I had BFG K02's but they were worn out at 40 k with one tire getting a nail in the side which cannot be fixed. I drove it until the tire went flat. My spare is a Discount Tire Pathfinder A/T P-rated to save weight and I found out that it is a Hankook tire. The tread depth for the P-rated was 13/32nds and the E rated 15/32's. I guess they can't make the tire exactly like the Dynapro so they put less tread. So I started look at the Hankooks and the E rated AT2 RF11 was 20/32's and is supposed to have improved traction all around and has a 60k warranty. $202 a piece and a $60 rebate so $187 a piece. So I will see how it goes. The guy at Custom Offsets keeps saying BFG and Hankook are your dad's tires. Well I guess I am that dad. I'll report later down the road and let you know how it goes. Doesn't look like many people run this tire.

I have considered dropping to a C rated tire to shave a few pounds from the E rated Toyos but I have also had some decent sidewall damage from our sharp rocks up around Payson that the Toyo held air even though you could see the belts.
I looked that the ATZs too, good price point and deep tread. I just haven't found much info on them other than some half-assed reviews. lol

I'm running the ATZs in stock sizes. Have had them on for about two months, 1500 miles or so at this point including a three day Mojave Rd. trip and some other exploratory day trips in the desert rocks and sand. They run great aired down to about 18-20 psi and feel fine on road too; you feel the weight of course but there has been zero impact on fuel economy, at least to the extent that I'm seeing on the stock lieometer. On road behavior is quite good. We don't get rain here so no wet pavement experience but I run them down the freeway at 80 mph a few days a week back and forth to work.

The construction is the same as the Cooper ST/Maxx, a tire I had previous positive experience with, and made in the USA. I'll just say "so far, so good."

Where did you find this deal, if I may ask? Thinking of dumping my Wildpeaks.

Haha, I know about the mediocre reviewers. I had trouble finding good reviews even on Wrangler sites.

As said, the construction is the same as the ST/Maxx but with premium compound. I have had none of the lane wandering issues others have described having with the ST/Maxx. I think ATZ P 3 is supposed to last longer.

I have used the ATZ P3 in varied terrain in AZ as well as in SW CO. Pretty much anything would do around Ouray but the ATZ added peace of mind on Black Bear. The P3 is at home in Arizona.

The offroad ride quality at 18-20 is indeed superb for me as well. There is no need to go under 28 if the terrain is smoother.

As for Wildpeaks, I cannot say that the ATZ P3 has different grip than SL AT3W in the desert. Feels pretty much the same. The AT3W shone on Broken Arrow and Backway to Crown King. Have not been back on the ATZ P 3, but can't imagine it feeling different considering what else I have done.

The SL Wildpeak has 2 issues: strength in the desert only and the quick disappearance of the quality tread in P metric. The really good tread lasts well under 20,000 miles with frequent offroading and the set of an offroaded vehicle tops at 30k at best. I still have a set of Wildpeaks with 8/32s for any future long distance trips that do not involve more than dirt roads and mild trails.
