Also, to touch on the actual thread topic, that lunar is so disappointing. Shame they refuse to go with a vibrant color, but it’s all about pleasing the masses to get the higher sales numbers.
I’m also glad to see the LED lights are in the same housing, chances are a swap will be even easier now.

Ugh don’t say that. Now the LED headlights bad guys will start crying too. You’re really hurting a lot of people’s feelings right meow.

The crying will take place on the 6th Gen 4runner if Toyota throws in a 8,9,10 speed transmission on the 4runner. All these manufacturers are doing it. And it’s a fact most people hate them. Even mechanics I spoke to. You don’t need all those gears constantly shifting. That’s why the 5Gen has been proven to be the best. More chance of issue s going wrong. But a lot of Toyota guys complain about the 5thGen.

Nobody wants a 10 speed nightmare transmission.
Most people just wanted a tall highway gear 6th speed in the current transmission that was already designed to house six gears.

I agree but you see how things go. And Toyotas line up of cars have more than six gears. Acura went the same way. My wife had a lot of TL’s and then the first year 15 Tlx and that 9 speed transmission sucked. Now she has 18 Acura RDX which has the 6speed transmission which her TL’ had. And dealing with Acura for years with the same service manage he even said that 6 speed trans is there best ever. And now the new RDX’s have 10 speed transmission in it. Also 4cyclinder turbo.

Just ignore him. He likes to troll Pro owners. His sig says that his Pro doesn't clunk, but yet in other posts he's noted he has a '19 ORP. I know he's real, real dumb, but "ORP" and "PRO" are different. Maybe he only looks at his in the mirror so his dumbass thinks it says PRO.

Good 4x4 design is contrary to shitty turbo 4 cylinder engines and 10 speed gear hunting ecosuck transmissions. Ford will find this out the hard way.

The railing on 8 and 10 speed automatics is getting old. Toyota especially builds some of the best and most reliable 8AT and 10AT units on the market, and for the most part, they have sorted out the gear hunting issues.
Honda, GM, Ford and Chrysler have all had their fair share of issues with these newer automatics, but Toyota hasn't. Toyota has been building 8ATs since 2007 and 10ATs since 2017. The 8AT specifically is more compact and more reliable than the 6AT it replaced. The tech is solid, and I'm excited to have a more advanced transmission in the next 4Runner. The 5AT is the single thing I dislike most about the 5th gen... the issue is not not power - it's gearing.

Unless Toyota wants to give the 4Runner the 8AT from the Land Cruiser, not too thrilled about anything else they have.

Perhaps mildly annoyed, but no tears .
I think it was a bigger kick in the teeth to the folks with Cement from back in 2017 to be honest.
I actually agree Inferno was an underrated color and is really uncommon it would seem. Looks great on the 4Runner (probably better than the Tacomoa and Tundra).

I think that's probably what will happen... although there is a version of the new 10AT coming for SUVs. I assume the options for 6th gen will be 8AT and turbo 4 and/or 10AT and TTV6 optional.

has anyone here driven one of the new 10 speeds for an extended period? the ford unit is good. dont even notice shifts in the higher gears...
our drivetrain is archaic, yet reliable. that said i wouldnt mind a 6 speed with the first 3 gears being much shorter than what we currently have.
