I wonder what type of lens they are using.. A lot of these cheaper headlamp assemblies use low quality lenses and output won't match that what you would find in something like the Morimoto lenses.

Which makes me wonder if one can take these apart and throw in Morimoto's 2.5" rectangle lenses... Might just do that

I've thought about replacing the projectors also with better ones. But with how cheap these headlights are, I don't know how long the led drl bar will last so i don't want to waste time and money on it.

I have Spyder headlights on my other vehicle. Pulled them apart and replaced the low beam projectors with some HID projectors which helped quite a bit. It took about an hour per headlight to pull them apart and drill the holes for the new lenses. Doesn't look any different than the H7 halogens they shipped with but light output is better. The DRL strips have two years and 35k miles on them and they still work well.

If you have an early 5th gen, it might be worth getting these and replacing the bad projectors

Spyder/Boslla H11 LED mod

I was blessed by a good friend with a brand new pair of these Spyder headlights still in the box in chrome last month, he ordered them last Fall/Winter and just got them shortly before deciding to trade out of his 5th gen. He also gave me these tricky brand new Boslla LED H11 headlight bulbs after he got a new pair of headlights. They’re a 3 color 6500/4300/3000K LED with an amber warning flash as well, so you can run them as headlights, fogs, or job site/warning lights.

Tired of my hazy 2013 lights, and finishing up a front end project with a new full hybrid C4 bumper and really wanting a change these looked great so I grabbed the from him. Odd H1/H7 setup with an exposed LED bar connection and tape seal. Upon further inspection I found that if you pull the spring-clipped H7 it almost looks like it was made for the H11, and this Boslla has a red rubber o-ring that seals it perfectly inside. I just had to cut off the three tabs for the normal twist lock, and it slid right in with a little light twist and sat inside with the tight o-ring seal. Sure enough the spring clip even holds it 99% tight. I say that, full disclosure, it is not twist lock tight, but for my tolerances it isn’t going anywhere or shaking and damaging.

Otherwise I finished with cutting the included wire out with an X over both hole to hole in the back, and fed the old out and the new in. I’m veryyy happy with the first impression and can’t wait to get them installed and see what kind of output I get. With the small electrical transformer for each being outside the housing for the light itself I don’t anticipate any heat issues but we’ll see.

I put in leds today. Output is good but only the first day in. But my led bar didn’t light up, but I believe it’s my wiring. I was wondering what you connected to the led bar

The LED bar is connected to your little DRL bulb. They can be finnicky if not pushed in all the way.

I had the same problems finding the headlights as everyone else in this thread... I contacted spyder directly and found out that yotamafia sells them from their website but it wont show up if you do a normal google search. Go directly to the website and they are easy to find.

In my personal opinion i think it makes the front end look a lot more modern. like drewsro mentioned before the low beam has a very sharp cutoff line that takes some getting used other than that i like them a lot.

It looks way better with that setup! Did you have to do any extra wiring/splicing? Or was it all plug and play? I've been googling all around but haven't found any answer to that yet. I'm not very adept at wiring, so I'm hoping these don't need any!

Thanks, its completely plug and play! Btw its been a little over a year since I installed them and i still really like them, no issues whatsoever and they seem to be holding up great.
