Checking in to see if anyone here has made progress for converting to the (2022+) 3 wire dual low/high LED housings?

This would be nice to get figured out, I seem to find more Pro headlights than Venture/OR/Sport.

After seeing the pro high beams, I can't blame them. Lol

Hello,
I have been reading through the discussions regarding disabling the DRL function on the 5th gen 4runners. In regards to the DRL module hack of bending the pin, does this hack disable the DRL function to only the high beams or does it disable all the lights (ambers, high beams)? The reason I am asking this is because I installed a set of 2021 TRD Pro headlights and ended up tapping into the high beam positive to power the Bi-LED actuator. As a consequence of tapping into the high beams, I needed to disable the DRL function in the infotainment center so that the Bi-LED actuators do not activate when the DRL is active. I would like to still have the amber DRL to function.

What was Toyota’s reason for DISABLING the DRL bulbs as highs for the 4Runners with Bi-LED? Use both. Other manufacturers have.
Some very specific years of Range Rovers (2010-2012?) use both. The shield lifts on the Xenon headlights and the separate, high beam only lights come on, as well.

Beats me. They must have used a totally different design team than the ones who designed the new Tacoma headlights. Those ones use LED reflectors instead of this weird mix of projectors, and they're vastly better.
3rd Gen HID vs LED vs Halogen H11 projector headlights | Page 182 | Tacoma World
Whoever was in charge of the 4Runner rollout must have made some weird decisions on a limited budget.

2020 TRD pro. I am running the halogen high beams and LED high beam. I figured the halogens will carry a little further than the LED high beams. I was trying to figure out how to isolate the high beam wiring from the drl so I can tap into the high beam only to activate the Bi-LED high beam.

Wait, are you running newer than 2020 headlights? They didn't come with LED until 2021.

I installed 2021 TRD pro Bi-LED headlights in my 2020 TRD pro. I tapped the blue LED actuator wire into the existing halogen high beam power and turned off the DRL function in the infotainment unit.

Interesting, I thought it was a black wire that needed to be tapped into for the halogen highbeams to work…

Interesting that the DRL can be functioned through the infotainment on the 2020 and up. The 2019 and below DRL are only via the turn signal stock as far as I'm aware.
