Fuse 15 and 16 in the engine bay are the high beam fuses (left and right, 10A each).

Depending on how many watts it takes to keep the shutters open, it should be easy to do an add-a-fuse. I have one that triggers the relays on my SS3 auxillary driving beams.

Tory, are you tapping off one of the wires (left or right) at a high beam headlight bulb to trigger the relay for your auxiliary high beams?
If so, instead of trying to filter out the PCM waveform you could try to tap into the actual signal from the Main Body ECU that directly controls the DRL Relay. The DRL Relay switches either the +12V or the PCM waveform to the high beams.

If you look at the pre-Aug 2019 headlight wiring diagram it looks like the DIM output (connector 2D pin 24, pink wire) from the MB ECU is the one that controls the switching. You could try driving your relay from the DIM. You’d have to test it to see if it’s a high signal or driven to ground. It may be worth checking out.

Not the wire but yes, at the HB fuse. I'm not sure if I'm adventurous enough to dig around in the ECU or vampire tap an output nearby. I like my stuff easily reversible just in case...

Successfully installed the 2022 OEM bi-LED headlamps onto my 2016. I am not utilizing the high beam function of the bi-LED projector and am using the OEM halogen reflector (Nokya hyper yellow bulbs). Best of both worlds IMO.

Really happy with the output of these LED headlamps. Easy mod. 10/10 would recommend.

I need a set! Anyone selling?

Please let me know if you have a set you want to sell. I have a 2020 ORP, looking to upgrade to factory LED, preferably form 2022. I am close to Everett WA.

Any plans to get the Bi-LED high beam function to work? That in combination with the high beam halogen reflector would awesome.

That would be ideal but I don't think anyone has figured out how to go about doing that just yet.

What did you have to do to the connectors to get this working?

Pardon my ignorance, but how did that work exactly. Literally removing the high-beam LED bulb, and putting in the Nokya?

It's nearly the same process that everyone else has had to do to make them work. Swap the connectors, reverse the red and black wires into their respective places inside the connectors, then they will be functional. For the projector high beam shutter blue wire, I just heat shrinked it into the existing wiring. Looks OEM. I'll get a pic later today.

What I ended up doing to keep the DRL function and utilize the Bi-LED high beams was to tap a standard Bosch-type relay into the high beam power that would be active when the high beam was on. The threshold voltage to activate the relay is around 7.5 volts, above the DRL voltage. The relay may fail prematurely because there is still some current activating the coil. We'll have to see how it lasts.

Could use a PWM filter, I've been meaning to get around to this with my driving lights. Currently they're triggered with the high beams but using a selectable switch, so DRL doesn't buzz the relay when switched off.

So I've skimmed these 38 pages, what's the TLDR on OEM headlights? Is there a consensus on what is best or preferred?

Are these the only ones? Are the LED Low/High beams on 22 same as 21?

Halogen only:
L: 81170-35571
R: 81130-35541

LED w/ Halogen High beam
L: 81070-35600
R: 81140-35610

LED w/ Low/High beams
L: 81070-35610
R: 81140-35620

Seems like LED w/ Low/High beams is the least favorite?

Is there a consensus on Halogen only vs LED w/ Halogen High beam?

Are these swappable if you change out the connectors? If someone has a 21 LED with halogen high beams could they in theory swap to the old halogen lights? Are adapters available anywhere for purchase? Or easily repin yourself?

Are LED w/ Low/High beams swappable anywhere?

retrofitting older models simple method is 21 model non pro/limited head lights which have LED high/low. The led low and halogen high are direct swap with pin connector change. There is a how to video on that, with this you have DRL and high beam (halogen) all work.

The led high/low is still in the works as seen in the past few pages.
