The taillights are all exactly the same since 2014. There is no point in getting tail lights unless you have a 10-13 model with all-incandescent bulbs.
Even the 2014+ taillights only have LED boards for parking/brake lights. The reverse and signal bulbs are still incandescent.

Well....I just did this to my 2016 limited. Found a used pair of 2021 OEM LEDs and swapped them out with my standard halogens. I did have to reverse the wires in the plug, but everything went smooth. Removed the front bumper and unplugged all the auxiliary plugs plus the head lights plugs. Swapped out the lights and reinstalled. Now I have low beam LEDs now. High beams are still halogen. We'll see how they perform over the next few days of night driving now.
Thanks to everyone on this thread for the info to assist in this! Excellent.

I'm also on the lookout for a set 21/22 OEM LEDs for my 2018.

Well I have a lead on a set from a 2022 TRD Off Road. Which harness do I need for my 2018 TRD Off Road? Will my DRLs still work properly? Lastly, are the 2022 fog lamps plug and play on the 2018?

Thanks…very informative. Hope to hear from some who have installed the 2022s in an earlier 5th gen. Mainly curious how the hi beam output is without activating the shutters.

The high-beam output is exactly the same, because the reflectors are exactly the same as your current headlights. Nothing changed at all except for the projectors.

Is the Set from IL still up? I’m not seeing anything in my marketplace.

It would be really funny if someone opens up their SR5 headlights and finds inactive shutters in the projectors. I digress.

Just picked up a pair of 2022 lights and noticed the odd artifacts at the top of each light. I thought something was wrong with them at first, but glad to see I'm not the only one.

You have the option of including a wire for the shutter, or you can order with only two pins if you have the 2021 low-beam only headlights or if you decide you don't want quad high beams. These are built to order and allow you to convert your 14-20 4Runner with halogen headlights to the new 2021 and up factory LED headlights.

any luck on the bi led high beams working?
