Sleeping platform advise - 2019 SR5 with 3rd row

Looking for some advise regarding a sleeping platform. I currently have a 2019 SR5 premium with 3rd row seating so it the back doesn't fold down flush. What are you guys using? Are there any easy DIY or prefab ones. Thanks in advance

I'm not familiar with how the rear "cargo" area sits with the third row folded down. But for a 4runner with no third row and no sliding cargo tray, I used 2x4"s and plywood and carpet to build mine to level it out. There's a thread on here somewhere. But basic measurements are two or three (i went three) 2"x4"s or 2"x2"s that are 36" long with a 1/2" plywood sheet on top measured at 41"x43". Then cheap thin carpet covering the plywood. Screwed the wood together and used spray adhesive for the carpet. ~$50 at home depot.

For your situation, I'd recommend just measuring the area you need to level out and building your own platform. Cheap and simple. And then hit up @nytosc for the best mod for sleeping in your vehicle! See below thread URL.

Ultimate camping mod- rear window up / down and hatch pop with ignition off!

I don't have 3rd row either, so not sure exactly how it looks, I do know that the sliding cargo tray models make the trunk flush with the seats when folded down, so you don't need to add anything.

I would do something like this if you want to add a platform: 5th Gen 4Runner Sleeping Platform Build - YouTube

I had zero problems blowing up a twin air mattress and sleeping on that, without changing anything, the hump from trunk to folded seats wasn't felt at all.

I assume your 2nd row us similar to mine as not much as changed. With the third row you are just off a couple inches. I’ve used two camping pads, a foam one folded in half in the cargo area and an air one full length on top. That flattened things and was soft enough for me. When I had a fridge platform I made it added 3/4” particle board and then I only needed one long pad. I sleep really well about anywhere, if you don’t, you might want more. I’m 5’ 11” so I fit pretty well, taller folks may not like it.

two words...
....air matress.

i used my SR5 w 3rd row as a hotel room in the pit area while racing my motorcycle last yr. i blew up a full-sized air matress in the back, and poof, i was sleeping like a beauty...

i cant tell you if that is useful for camping and such, but i know i slept like a baby for those two nights.
