Xreas removal, any regrets?

Hi Everyone, I am thinking about removing the Xreas from my wife's 2012 Limited and replacing it with Bilstein 5100's. Is this a good move? How different will the ride be? It will remain stock, no lifting. Any and all comments please & thank you.

Mine is an '03 V8 Ltd AWD I removed xreas 3 years ago and installed Bil 4600 and new FJ springs and have been very satisfied. The ride is more taught than before but also my xreas was empty of it's gas charge, which I didn't even know!
Just a couple of months ago I added a 1" spacer to the front to level it and now it looks a lot better as well.
I don't off road at all so my opinion is street based.
5100's are a better choice as you can level it with the front clip settings and not need the spacer like I did.

See my replies in this thread:

Xreas failure at 30k miles
  1. If you replace the XREAS with regular shocks your wife will say that it doesnt drive the same.
  2. Then you will get into a fight because you will tell her "everyone from the internet does it"
  3. She will think you are doing something unsafe or trying to kill her
  4. You will tell her "They said it's better"
  5. She will file for divorce.
  6. You will have to sell the 4Runner to pay the lawyers
  7. You wont be able to go to work because you can't drive there and you'll be fired.
  8. You'll miss child support payments and you will go to jail
  9. When you get out you will be destitute and living in a box on the street.
  10. You'll die from some random act of violence in the homeless community you are living in.
REMOVING XREAS Will Kill YOU
