New Radio/Nav Head unit for 2010?

Ive seen some upgrade their older 5th gens with newer OEM head units. What is the newest that can work with a 2010 TE with Nav and JBL? Thanks in advance!

No point putting an OEM in, they're trash. An aftermarket will be cheaper and much better when it comes to capabilities. I upgraded my 2012 to a Sony with CarPlay and would never switch back.

I believe the wiring completely changed in 2014.

I'm looking at upgrading my 2010 TE (no nav, no JBL) with the T9 head unit. There's been some mixed reviews on the Android based head units but most of them seem to be configuration issues.

Agreed. Aftermarket is significantly better sounding and easier to navigate with more options. It may have a higher cost than picking up a used head unit, but it's money better spent. Especially if you're adding wireless Android Auto or Carplay!

Old thread but thought someone else with a 2010 TE with Nav and JBL has possibly upgraded with the T9. Wondering if its possible and how it has worked if so. Thanks!

Also, thought of adding a newer Entune HU does anyone know if it will work in a 2010?

I'm curious why you're stuck on this idea. The newer Entune will have the wrong backlighting colors (blue vs orange), old navigation, and mediocre sound. For the same cost you can get much better options.

I hear you, I just want to compare a newer OEM option (if possible) with aftermarket.

Aftermarket will always win out in terms of capabilities until you basically get to the 2020 and up new radio. There really isn't anything better in the 2014+ headunit over the 2010-2013 one with navigation. Just cosmetic things basically.

I like the look of factory, so what I did was hack a replacement OEM nav radio (I didn't want to do mine in case I messed up). I took the radio apart until I was pretty much left with the faceplate and the circuit board behind it. I removed the screen and cut the circuit board so that the new radio could fit through it (the circuit board is just used the help mount the OEM faceplate and buttons, though none of the buttons function anymore). I put a Sony radio in the opening of the of the original radio (had to make it slightly larger). It looks fairly stock and now I have CarPlay.
