Bumping this thread. Can anyone confirm if this will work on older keyed SR5 models like my 2015?

Sorry to bump an older thread but has anyone with a pre 2021 installed this with success. From what I understand this should work with any vehicle that;

"uses a negative pulse to lock/unlock (the door lock switch on the driver's door triggers the circuit to ground when you press the lock/unlock switch)"

(I don't know exactly what that means)

Based on this post;

Just looking for confirmation from someone who has a pre 2021 who has successfully installed.

Mine came pre-installed on my 2020 4Runner. I’ve already had to replace the windshield and the insurance paid to reinstall the touchpad. The replacement keypad adhesive cannot be reused and has to replaced, but it came in a multi-pack (I think 5), so I’ll have them the next time the windshield needs to be replaced.

Just FYI I found this and seems to be cheaper than what I have seen on Ebay and cheaper than what was mentioned at the beginning of this thread;

For anyone wanting to know what this means its simple. Some locks use a Battery+ pulse to cause the doors to lock, while some systems just grounds the already energized lock module causing the doors to lock.

Easy way to find out is track down the pulse wire and see if you have continuity to ground always or only for a second while pushing the lock button.
