100k Service Tips

Hey guys, I'm having my 100k service done this Saturday. Besides the standard oil change and tire rotation, here are some of the things they are going to do:

Coolant Flush
Differential Fluid Change
Transmission Fluid Change

They also said they would inspect the brake fluid and see that needs to be changed based on it's condition.

Is there anything else you guys have been having the stealerships check/service around this time that's not in the manual?

I'd say have the front differential fluid and the transfer case fluid changed as well. If the brake fluid has never been changed then I would say have it changed for sure. If you are still on the original serpentine belt then I would have that swapped out too. Lastly, a power steering fluid flush if it's never been done.

Change all of the fluids if you haven't by now. I do the diffs at 30k intervals and the t-case at 60k. If you haven't done any changes, yet, then do ALL of them including brake and p-steering.

Don't sweat if you elect not to do some of tbe suggested maintenance. I'm on my 4th 4R and 7th Toyota overall and they are one of the most forgiving brands on the road.

With that said, all items suggested are worth doing although the frequencies can likely go longer. My 2008 T4R has 180,000 and I don't recollect changing the serpentine belt. I've only performed transfer case, tranny, radiator and rear axle fluid changes once. I don't believe I've replaced the brake fluid and I have a 2nd set of spark plugs waiting for me to install. She runs like a top, still quick (quicker than my 2019 TRD OR with the Sprint Booster) and is my tow and work vehicle. My previous '90 and '00 T4Rs tallied a combined 450,000 + miles.

Be sure to have them lube your spider joints and slip yokes on the driveshaft. They don’t typically do this unless you ask them to.
