So add 30 to 40 buckaroo's on top of the purchase price.

1). The cooler isn’t actually standard equipment on the Trail edition. It’s an option, and the buyer has to check that option.

2). The cooler retails for $650 or thereabouts.

3). It’s not able to be ordered (for the moment) as an accessory from any parts department. You have to buy the truck and check the box to get it.

4). He said they’re trying to find out who actually makes it, but for that price, they don’t think they’ll move any unless it’s a YETI.
For $650 it better make ice and give a happy ending.

Yeah I think it was like $30. Not terribly over the top, given the size of the cooler.

Haven’t pull the trigger yet. I’d really like to know who makes the thing first. If it’s a Yeti or some sort of respected manufacturer, I’m on board.

If it’s some Japanese no-name thing with a Toyota logo smacked on it, I’ll probably pass. It just means that it’s essentially tinsel for the car if that’s the case

Wait $400 for a cooler? Is it electric? If it’s just a cooler for $400 why on earth would you buy it?

For the money just get one of these. Assorted colors and sizes and much better pricing. Started by the guy who started Yeti.

Shop RTIC 45, White

Just wait until you see the price on the new stainless steel Yeti cooler. $800...

I agree, RTIC is the best deal out there for the money. I'd go with their new lightweight version. 52 quarts. Only $150

Shop RTIC 52 Ultra-Light Hard Cooler, White & Grey

If you are ever in the Philippines (ask your military friends stationed in the Pacific) you can get a Yeti super cheap. They sell ones with “blemishes” for about 20% of retail. I’m pretty sure my 3 were just pulled off the line.

It doesn't matter who makes it. They're all made in factories overseas and are just rotomolded plastic with foam insulation.

I've ordered parts from them before. No issues. I believe TRD Jon uses them frequently as well.

Also, if that’s reallt the price, I can chalk up another point to my dealer for being complete morons. $6xx and only available as an option with the car, blah blah blah.
My guess is that whoever makes the Cabela's coolers, it's the same manufacturer. They look exactly the same and they even have the same 40-Quart size (MSRP: $249 for the Cabela's 40 quart):

Access Denied

(edit) Weird that it's not letting me hyperlink it. Just search for: Cabela's Polar Cap Equalizer 40-Quart Cooler

I just looked at this on google and cabela's. They look nothing alike other than being rectangles.
