Accurate for a dry fill, i.e. what they fill at the factory. If you drain those, there will be some residual left so it will take a bit less to refill.

The transmissions, differentials, transfer case, etc are now considered life time fill from the factory under normal operating conditions. Thus, you have many, many years, perhaps a decade or more before you will need to replace those fluids. So, I guess my question is why ask for a new 4Runner?

Wifes 2014 2WD 4R differential capacity as listed in owners manual did not get it to the top. Had to add another 8 oz. or so. I fill rear diffs till they slightly overflow.
Do what you like with yours.

Well that's just not true.

https://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/docu...-204Runner.pdf

"Front and Rear Differential Oil
Inspect or replace at specified intervals.
When performing inspections, check each
component for signs of leakage. If you
discover any leakage, have it repaired by a
qualified technician immediately"

"SERVICE INTERVALS (AS RECOMMENDED BY TOYOTA):
Differentials: 15,000 miles when heavily loaded, or with roof-mounted gear
Transfer case: 30,000 miles when driving dirty or dusty roads"
ATF: 90,000 miles

Toyota recommends that under “standard conditions” fluids be replaced as needed based on levels and color.
