TRD Pro rims vs Replica

I was wondering if anyone has insight into purchasing TRD Pro replica rims opposed to OEM. The dealer wants $375+tax for the OEM ones and I have found one post for replica @ $750 for the set of 4. Apparently replica ones are +5 offset compared to the +15 of the OEM. Any and all additional info would be awesome! Thanks!

TRD Pro rims are +4.

You can find them online for ~$200 apiece.

OEM TRD should be +4 offset, $172 a piece from the link below.

I went with the Replika sema rims from PMC. Shipped to your door in Canada for a bit over $600

R213 - Replika - Wheels / Mags - PMCtire Canada

The only thing I hate about the rims is that the center cap is really odd. From the outside, it looks like the OEM center cap, but if you remove it, other OEM center caps will not fit in the same hole.

FWIW - centercaps for Toyota wheels often are not interchangeable. For example my Limited wheel center caps will not fit on the TRD OR wheels, nor will the FJ Cruiser 6 spoke wheel centers fit on any of the others. Even though they appear visually to be nearly identical, they in fact are not interchangeable. I find it pretty darn odd frankly that they didn't make them all the same plastic mold just for the ease of use.

I called Camelback today and they said they are a few months back ordered. I have tried a few other local dealerships and they stated the same. My local dealer out here in California says that the warehouse has several and they have to order them. They want $215 plus tax = $237 out the door.
Would be interested to know who has these in stock or a few days out at about $175 with fair shipping prices and no tax in California, which, is probably impossible.

Part of my price issue is that I am way up here in Canada. Our dollar sucks right now so $200 is more like $275 each - that being said, that's still better than $375!

Thanks!

Those would work! Have they held up okay for you? I have no idea if there is a difference in material/coating in replica vs oem...

Thanks!

They've held up fantastic. The clear is still good with no blemishes even after 2 tires changeovers. I've ran them for two winters now with spacers.

Replika and PMC have upped their game recently. Somewhere in the PMC link states that Replika products have a 3 year warranty which includes clear peeling. The taco guys have been running the replika rims for years now without issue.

I went with the replica because of the more aggressive offset and, well, heck, it's really hard to argue the cost. OEM in Edmonton was about $1300+. So, I could buy 2 Replika sets for the price of 1 OEM set.

The replikas are an alloy that weighs 27.2 lbs compared to the OEM 25 lbs alloy. However, the replika rims are 8" wide vs the OEM Sema rims which are 7" wide. That could account for the additional weight. Not sure exactly what allow the rims are made of. Hope that helps.

Ahh, I wasn't quite clear with my gripe. I was just annoyed that the replika rims that I linked (which are imitating the TRD sema rims) don't have interchangeable center caps with the rim that its imitating. i.e. The center caps on the OEM sema TRD rims don't fit on the Replika sema TRD rims.

Whereas FN Wheels have a sema TRD replica rim and their center caps are interchangeable with the OEM sema TRD rim.

That's what I get for being cheap though haha But to speak to your point, that is weird. I never thought about that -center caps across all OEM 4runner rims aren't interchangeable. It is weird.

I agree that the replica should just use the same center caps. I can't understand why you wouldn't make them interchangeable unless it's infringing on some sort of patent or trademark- but I doubt the replicas care at all about that issue.

Been looking at getting a set of the Replika R213 wheels after doing research, and a few threads on the tacomaworld thread, some say the oem trd pro centre caps would fit on them.

Heres the original thread

TRD Pro Replika Wheel Copy | Page 2 | Tacoma World

There's also someone on this thread that has the replika wheels with oem center caps on his tacoma

Find TRD Pro Wheel or Replica in Canada ? | Page 2 | Tacoma World

I want to get a set of these but I need to be 100% sure the center caps will fit.

Reading the reviews on canadawheels and it's been confirmed that the oem TRD Pro center caps fit.
