2021 TRD Pro Fox suspension as an aftermarket option

Hey guys, I am considering the 2021 TRD Fox suspension that comes stock on 2021 TRD Pros for my 2019 ORP. I like reputation, fitment, and looks. 2 questions. First, what size lift will I get in the front and rear? I want to fit 285/70/17 tires on 0 offset wheels? I have spidertrax currently and dont mind some body work. Second, what other parts do I need (i.e. diff drop kit, rear springs, etc.)?

You won't be able to fit 285's especially not with spacers. I added the Eibach springs for my TRD Pro suspension and I can fit 285's, but wasn't able to with spacers.

Find it used or not at all. It's going to be overpriced new from a dealer when you can do better with off the shelf parts that work just fine. No diff drop needed ever.

Lift has little or no influence on tire fitment with IFS. If the tire combo doesn't fit now - it also will not fit with a lift.

TRD Pros use the same rear springs as all 4x4 4Runners except Limited model. So the rear height is exactly the same. Front of the TRD Pro is around 1" higher than the SR5/TRD OR models. - if you swap in the fox TRD Pro suspension you will net a 1" higher front ride height and no difference in the rear.

Just go with a Dobinsons IMS or similar. You'll spend the same or less, be able to get exactly what you want for lift, and have some great ride. The fox shocks are very nice, but seems like people want a ton of money on them. At that point I'd just get the fox 2.0's.

As noted, you'll likely want a spacer or new front coils for bigger tires.

Just so you can see what a TRD Pro looks like with stock suspension.

I always hated the rake so with the Eibach’s with 285’s it looks perfect to me.

This does look really great. So is the TRD Pro rear the same height as the ORP rear? I thought I would need to get an inch back there for 285s? What eibach kit is that? how much lift did the front come up? thanks

to run 285/70-17's with those wheel specs you will need to remove front mudflaps and trim front bumper and do body mount chop. it's not difficult. sawzall did the chop super easy btw.

Its just the Eibach springs for the Pro. Swap out the TRD Pro springs and you get about 1.6" front and 1" in the rear over stock TRD Pro.

I've got real world experience with 285/70/17's on 0mm offset wheels:
Falken AT3W's on Icon Rebound wheels on stock 2017 TRD PRO suspension - I've got a 2017 Pro. In fact, I even went with SCS 17x8.5 wheels which were -10mm offset.

Kept my mudflaps and only... I repeat, ONLY had to trim my bumper more (since it was already trimmed at PORT when it was converted into a PRO). When I swapped to the higher offset of the SCS wheels, all I did was trim my bumper even more my but YMMV.

I'm currently on 17x9 with -38mm offset and they certainly needed the BMC.

As others have mentioned, you'll get about 1" up front. The rear PRO suspension only differs with the shock, thus height will not change. The rear springs is how to can manipulate ride height in the rear and the ideal way to change it is with an aftermarket set.

Hi Dallas,

Your 4Runner looks very very level now. To confirm, your only modification is changing out the factory springs with the new Eibach springs made for the 2019-2020 TRD Pro?

What size tires do you have on the stock TRD Pro rims?

Thanks.

Did you replace stock UCA’s? If so what did you go with?

Pretty certain that’s exactly what he did and nothing more.

I say that because I asked Dallas these same questions in a different thread. 4 Eibach springs and a set of 285/70/17’s. That’s it. Eibach makes a specific set of springs for the TRDP w/ Fox shocks.

It was his pics (same as above) that sold me 100% on Eibach springs, running 285’s on stock TRDP wheels.

The 285’s v. 275’s on stock TRDP wheels had been a bit of a dilemma for me. Lots of mixed messages on this site about that. As you can see from those pics above, seems to work just fine. I’ll be doing the same. My Eibach springs are inbound currently.

Its not perfectly level, but much closer and it looks very good IMO. I'm running 285 WildPeak AT3's on stock Pro rims.
