Pulling to right

The 4Runner seems to really want to pull to the right. Last week I had a tire rotation done and an alignment, apparently toe in was a bit out but while not as severe now, it still pulls to the right. Due to COVID-19 I didn't drive for close to six weeks in the spring and salt worked its way into the steering shaft, causing it to make it difficult to turn and return to centre. Lots of WD40 and such seemed to clear it up but I can't help wondering if the pulling is down to the steering shaft from the issues earlier this year. Thoughts? Thanks!

Is it lifted? Might be your track bar causing it to pull right

Pulling to one side can be caused by wheel alignment or dragging brakes on one side. To check for dragging brakes, after a good drive, feel the wheels. If the brakes are dragging one side will feel noticeably warmer, even hot.

Also check the emergency brakes. The emergency brake cables run through a sleeve, and when you get moisture in those sleeves, the water can freeze, or worse, the cable rusts, possibly on one side. Again, the dragging brake test can help find which wheel is dragging. Toyota recommends not applying the emergency brake in freezing weather for this reason.

OK, so this just seems a bit bizarre. As I mentioned, the truck was pulling to the right and had been doing it for a couple months. Alignment done, no idea why the dealer didn't take it for a drive before or after to see what the complaint was, COVID is no longer a reasonable excuse, I'll discuss next time I'm at the dealer. Anyway, this past Sunday I took the Thule racks off my truck for the winter. I had a short drive yesterday and I didn't notice the pulling. Today I had a one hour drive each way to work and no pulling. Truck tracks almost straight! So, could it have been air through the roof racks? I didn't really think about it but shortly after I removed the bike holder on the passenger side, so no longer symmetrical bike holders on each side of the roof, was around the time I started noticing the pulling. As I said, just seems bizarre but the pulling is gone!

Roof rack with or without attachments would not cause significant pulling to the side. Did you check for dragging brakes or parking brake cables as I mentioned before?

Sounds like bad alignment. It will pull to the right slightly on any road since most roads are not flat, high in the middle and taper off on each side. But not very noticeable so yours is probably aligned wrong.

As I said, strange. Brakes are fine, alignment was done. So unless something else was causing this that resolved itself and it just coincided with me taking off the rack, who knows. It's good now though and that's all that matters

My brand new 2021 pulls to right too.
I have to turn steering wheel to left a little bit.
Brought it back to dealer, the pulling is too minor, they are too lazy to do this micro alignment, and blame on crowned/ uneven pavement.

it could be to radial pull i was told some times this happens when you rotate the tires all you have to due is switch or swap the two front tires with each other and the pulling should go away
Good luck
i agree with others that the roof rack has nothing to do with pulling to one side or other side only if you where driving in heavy windy conditions.
