Ceramic Tint

A few years ago I got my side window tinted with just the regular tint, but my shop is offering me $120 for the front window to be tinted ceramic.
I was wondering if it is worth the ceramic tint even though my side windows aren't ceramic tinted?

Yep the ceramic windshield tint makes a gigantic difference, more so than the sides even. I used to get tickets in california for tint so ymmv but it's worth while having the whole thing done with ceramic at least here in az

I've had Llumar Air Blue 80 on my windshield since the truck was just a few days old (and on my last car); I don't think I can go back to an non-tinted windshield (simultaneously, I don't think I could go to any darker tint on the windshield). With the AB80 95% of people will never notice that it's tinted (the rest of the truck has Llumar/FormulaOne Pinnacle 15%, including over the factory tint)

Without a doubt get ceramic. I will not do another car with regular tint. The heat difference is remarkable.

I agree with everyone on here with ceramic tint on front windshield. It will protect against UV!

Same exact set up here. Had the truck done when it was less than a week old. Window tint is life and death out here

I had all my windows including the windshield done with ceramic tint first week I got my rig. Not sure if there is difference compared to if it had standard quality tint but if ceramic tint keeps my rig cooler then I’ll pay the extra costs. My T4R is completely murdered out.

I got stopped on the 101 near SLO just because of the window tint. CHP gave me a fixit ticket. I had ceramic installed on just the PS and DS front windows.
It does cut the heat but not all the glare. We travel up and down I-15 in the morning and the sun can be quit intense. My wife uses a pull down tinted shade for those mornings. I could have gone darker with the tint but I would risk another ticket and the second one is a fine. Here is a photo of the product installed. there are other manufactures that have better products. 3M has fallen behind in the window film industry. so research your options.

When you say front window are you referring to the windshield ?
Read California state law regarding tinting windshield, there are restrictions.

I've got CR70 on the front and no one notices visually. I think this is helped by having CR50 on the driver and front passenger windows and having CR40 aft of that. The only caveat is if you wear polarized sunglasses there is some rainbow effect from the tint. Honestly doesn't bother me and I got used to it quite quickly but be warned.

I'm not sure having ceramic on the front only is super helpful. Would depend on the tint of the other windows and how much IR they let in. The factor windows do have some tint built in, so maybe it isn't too crucial on the side and aft windows.

Cruising through the desert at well over 100 deg F and complaining that the car is too cold haha

I have 3M Crystalline up front and ceramic on all the other windows. The crystalline is virtually clear, which I need since TX doesn't allow tint on the windshield.

To me it was worth it. The heat is much less intense. Leaving the car out in the sun, the interior surfaces is not as hot without the tint. It will still get hot inside the car, but I can still touch the steering wheel comfortably. I also don't have to run the A/C fan as high to keep the car cool. To me definitely worth while.

Ceramic tint is the only way to go.

When we had our 4Runner tinted they also did the windshield - OMG!!! It is the best!! Even in LV rarely need sunglasses when driving now. I don't recall the % on the windsheild, sorry.

If you only did ONE window it should BE the windshield.....most angled into the sun and the greatest surface area so the most Bang for the Buck! I did my whole 4Runner with clear on the front and tint down the sides and back in Ceramic for $400......worth it here in HELL!

I agree with all above.

I had ceramic done on the windshield, moon roof and side windows, It's very good for heat rejection. Did our new Sienna also, it helps.

This is next up on the mods list. Trucks ac can barely keep up with the PHX summers.

I also sleep in the back of the truck and usually start getting cooked when the sun comes up.
