Same, Especially at the price I paid I was expecting more. Its a cool idea but I would rather pay more for a better product.

The AJT keyfob isnt perfect, but its better than the MESO and half the price.

Got red buttons from Meso. Set all 3 screws on blue locktite. So far no problems.

lol trying to take out the transponder chip, I guess the chip was resting directly against the plastic wall with no resin/glue buffering it. I nicked it with the dremel and poof, toasted it.

I called the dealership and wowza, a replacement key + programming + tax came to a $430 CAD.

I posted a shout out to a couple of local toyota forums and a local mechanic has a mobile guy that comes to your house and does it for $140 cash. Craaaaaaaaazy.

Very happy about that.

Need some help please, had to take apart the fob, so now the spring/flip mechanism has “sprung”, I’ve watched the video how to “reload” the spring but I must not be doing it correctly. I twist the cap and reinstall the retaining pin. When I reinstall I cannot get the key blade to fold, seems to be “locked” in the open position. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance

I would contact them. I was able to relock the spring when i pulled the pin out. maybe try wiggling it and get the pin back in. I had to do that. I dont have gaps in mine. only issue i had was i kept setting off the panic because the button was full set in the hole. so i fixed that and had no other issue. I came from a ajt fob. I could technically go back. so for any of you who dont like the flip, swap the key parts over to a ajt key. You have technically have a oe style fob key from them.

I know this is an old thread, but I was hoping for a long term user opinion on these flip fobs. are they still working for everyone? have they fallen apart?

I've been using mine since October 2020 - still works great and no issues!

The spring on mine opens very easily, when in the closed position. I have reset it without any improvement. Might go back to AJT key.

Mine got to a point where it wouldn’t stay closed. I took it apart and the grooves that keep the key open/closed had rounded off. Ended up finding a brass spacer at Ace and replaced the worn plastic with metal. Epoxied it in and it’s good as new.
