What your suggesting would require bolting on roof racks to the factory holes every time you want to use the rack. You don't really want to do that as the captive nuts inside the roof are not intended for that, and it could lead to leaks etc.
LFD OFFROAD does make a basic cross bar for our trucks that bolts to the factory attachment points.
Personally, I use a trailer.
