You can try poking a few holes from the top down.. maybe keep from a vacuum seal when you slide the item in the holder

Now that you mention this, I'm similarly annoyed by how grippy the are. May just have to design some up and print them out of PETG or TPU (still flexible, but not grippy). If I do, I'll post up the STL file.

I got mine in rather quickly after ordering. Good quality hard plastic so cups don't get stuck and about the same thickness as the rubber stock ones. Two thumbs up.
