AirBedz mattress

HI

I'm considering the AirBedz inflatable mattress for an upcoming camping trip. I know the way to truly be comfortable sleeping in the cargo area of a 4runner is by way of a built platform to eliminate the bump that is caused by the folded rear seats. My question for those that have used an inflatable mattress in their 4Runner is does a mattress eliminate the bump enough to be comfortable or is the bump from the rear seats still very noticeable? Below is a link to the AirBedz mattress I'm looking at.

Not sure about the hump but here's a thread with some people discussing it ...

Sleeping comfortably in a 2017 4Runner

... seems like there's a "slight tilt" but that the hump isn't felt at all.

I went with QTY 2 80"x24"x3" thick foam pieces from Home Depot which were $30 each. I cut them down to the right length and it still left me with room to store stuff on the driver side. Throw a sleeping pad and a sleeping bag on top and it was perfect for me! Wouldn't work for 2 people but for one person it was great!

thick air mattresses(10"+) generally take care of it...a megamat/thermarest or the likes will not.
Also u can save a bunch of money and by a full size mattress from wally world, it'll conform to the space and fill it completely.
Huge tip with any air mattress of that variety is air it up an hour or so before bed and lay on it for 10 min with your mate preferably (if you have one)...let it stretch, than air back up for the night.

We camp fairly frequently in the back at trailheads. We just use a cheap air mattress with the built in pump, and leveling blocks to make sure our heads are on the up-slope.

For most air mattresses you cannot inflate them 100% and then close the hatch, so you have to do like 90%, close the hatch, and then shove the mattress down. i can't say i feel the "bump" whatsoever in my cheap setup. i know a few folks like to do foam build ups instead of air mattresses so that they don't disturb their partner sleeping back there. Since you will most likely destroy the air mattress and the blocks after a few seasons, keep an eye out for sales and especially Walmart roll back, the blocks i got for like $20 on sale.

Mattress: Amazon.com: Intex Dura-Beam Series Pillow Rest Classic Airbed with Internal Pump, Full: Sports & Outdoors

Blocks:Amazon.com: Camco 44510 Heavy Duty Leveling Blocks, Ideal For Leveling Single and Dual Wheels, Hydraulic Jacks, Tongue Jacks and Tandem Axles (10 Pack, Frustration-Free Packaging): Automotive

I also use an air mattress in the back. The bump can be felt if you don't inflate the mattress enough, but never had a real issue once I figured that part out. I usually don't use anything to level the truck, I just try to park so my feel are lower if needed. I've also used Maxtrax to level on occasion. Or found rocks. Or logs. Or... you get the idea.
