4r-4ever will become famous soon enough
in the 4th gen 4runner, you can drive it in 4H anywhere even on dry pavement. it does not bind since it has the open center differential. if you select lock, then it binds in dry pavement like what the 5th gen have.

in the 5th gen 4runner, you have to only use 2H all the time especially in dry pavement. you can only use 4H or 4L when driving in the snow, sand or anything slippery.

what i don't understand is why toyota changed the 4 wheel drive system from 4th gen 4H unlocked to 5th gen 4H locked center differential. maybe they are saving on cost or maybe the 4th gen have a lot of issues with locking it and unlocking it. i've read somewhere about those 4th gen with those issues. I guess in the end, it's probably more reliable that way in my opinion.

The limited has full time 4wd like the 4th gen
