Would you get a Venture that doesn't have KDSS? Just looking on cars.com, and inventory is limited overall, it seems like most don't have it as a selected option (surprisingly).
Again, my 4Runner use is really going to be weekend fishing/camping/ski trips. IF I get to the point where I start doing true off-roading, I'll be open to doing the necessary mods.
Thanks again!

I test drove a TRD ORP w/ KDSS when I was shopping and ultimately bought my Venture without KDSS, mainly because the deal on the first truck fell through due to dealer games.
On road, KDSS is essentially a VERY thick swaybar. If you're familiar with what upgraded swaybars feel like on sports cars, they reduce body roll without negatively affecting ride. I could definitely feel the KDSS equipped 4Runner being more stable at highway speeds compared to my Venture without KDSS. But for me the improvement there wasn't really a make or break thing. I don't drive my 4Runner aggressively and it pretty much drives like any other truck I've driven before which I don't mind. Some people really can't stand how trucks drive and want the car to feel more stable or "stiff" in roll control. I can't say KDSS made the 4Runner feel even as decent as my wife's second gen Acura RDX, which isn't particularly sporty. It's still a big, softly sprung, sold rear axle, offroad oriented body on frame SUV after all
I guess the only way to know whether it's crucial for you is to drive both if you can.
