Nightmare lift install

What’s up everyone! I bought and ribs had pro kit with JBA UCA’s. I paid a shop to have them install it because I’m moving to Az and just don’t have the time to do it right now. They seemed to have royalty f*cked this up. UCA boot was in backwards and then they didn’t even use the hardware that JBA supplied with the kit! I’m gonna have another shop fix all this shit but do I need new bushings? Are these ruined now? I know I need to contact contact JBA for new hardware but should I get bushing too?

I guess they didn't use the inner washers that retain the bushing in the UCA? How many miles since the butcher job? They might be ok if you don't put too many miles on it and get the washer installed properly. The inside of the bushing that the bolt slides through might be damaged though. Do you still have the inner washers?
Worse case scenario is you overnight some bushings from JBA and get it fixed right, or if thats not possible, you roll with the damaged bushings with the inner washers installed and once you get to AZ, you replace the bushings.

Ive got about five miles on it then I noticed that they screwed this up. I contacted JBA and am going to see if he will overnight me some washers. Hopefully this is an easy fix. No im guessing the ship just threw them out. I will call them in the morning.

It would seem UCA installation is not this shop’s forte. Curious if you contacted the shop and called them out on their error?

How did they install the UCA bolt backwards too??? It's so damn long that I left it in place as I didn't want to take it out, only to have issues reinserting it lol.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. I'd ask for some serious compensation - you can take this to the BAR for grossly incompetent work.
BAR = bureau of automotive repairs

Good luck!

I will contact them this morning. I noticed it last night when I stopped at the store on my way home.

If they are a decent shop any costs to correct the situation should be on them. I get things happen but that's a pretty obvious install issue. Is the other side the same way?

Contacted them and essentially the guy said he left them out because there was no space for them. Unreal

You should post the shops info so others can avoid them.

That is bad. I hate letting other people touch my 4runner. I would like to pay for service sometimes but this stuff always happens. I mean Always! How can anyone look at that install and be happy with it.

The washers didn't fit, OMG mechanic thinks he's an engineer. I think worst case is you'll need new bushings. How'd the alignment go?

Is this a respected shop or the cheapest one out there? Either way just awful and one of the dumbest responses I've ever heard. Clearly shouldn't be touching vehicles, not even to do an oil change.

Luckily I noticed it before I paid for an alignment. Also lucky that JBA is overnighting me new washers and bushings. Now it costed me an extra $127. I’m hoping that it just needs the washers put in and nothing else is damaged. Idk I’m still unsure of what to even do.

It had good reviews. (Which clearly means nothing ) I would have done this myself if I had more time and wasn’t getting ready to move across the country.

JBAs are a ***** to install but that doesn't let the shop off the hook. If you put it on a card I would tell the shop owner to refund you or you're going to file a dispute.

Luckily I did put this on a card. They want me to bring it back but I don’t think I can.
