I replaced the whole dome light and put single LED bulb in there instead of CH panel after that. I think the problem was spring adapter connector but either way everything was toast and didn't trigger the fuse which tells me issue wasn't just short at posts but rather internal issue with LED Panel circuitry. Close call and I hope to prevent anyone from fire by removing or not ordering those dangerous panels.
Thanks for this

Why am I not surprised

Poorly developed and not tested properly Chinese junk that funds a Communist Army.

There were Chinese LED Helmet and Handlebar lights with lithium batteries for cyclists that were starting peoples houses on fire when they were being charged. I happened to buy a set and found out later. I kept them in a steel container outdoors when I was charging them and storing them.

Rich is correct. Beware of crappy LED retrofit automotive bulbs, home AC LED bulbs, and other products from manufacturers you’ve never heard of. They can fail early at best and cause fires in the worst case. It’s not fair to lump them all under the Chinese junk category (even though it seems that’s usually the case). Because almost everything we buy is made in China. But you have to do some research to find a reputable brand.

Another observation: I tried a high power LED dome light for the back seat area once. At night it was so bright it would temporarily blind the passengers when they got in the back seat. I went back to a lower power bulb after that.

With the arclight map lights and rear hatch upgrades you can pull the whole unit and make the install in the bench and simply snap the fixtures back in place.

The hard part is with the dome light, it doesn't come out or disconnect the way the other lights do. It's practically hardwired in with no disconnect so you have to install it in place on the ceiling. Makes it hard to reach and you get tired holding it up to make all the changes.

So remove a couple screws and pull the whole overhead console down and work on it at a bench. I put mine together at the kitchen table. This is like the people trying to use tape to remove the front dome light bouu look at instead of taking 1-2 minutes to drop the housing and remove the bulb sockets from above as intended.

Those are pretty nice, but that pushbutton looks like... well, it doesn't look as nice as the rest of the pacakage..

Yeah, the push button turned me off of those. I have the Arc Light white LED panels in the rear and they are amazing though

I'll add another comment for the cartrimhome leds. When I bought them the first time, there was a push button that was used to toggle between the red and white lights. One light broke and I ordered a replacement since I had already drilled holes in the lens covers. The replacement no longer incorporates a push button but a relay instead so it now routinely toggles between white and red on it's own. I regret giving them extra money for the replacement and will eventually replace them with something else. I wouldn't recommend them. I replaced my map lights with lasfit lights (very happy with them) and now I'm looking for a replacement for the map and dome. Might try arc, meso or try the lasfits for those as well....

I used wonder why people would buy a $40-$45,000 vehicle and then put the cheapest quality Chinese garbage on it, but nowadays you can’t even find quality non-Chinese garbage to put on it…

Hell, half of the “Japanese” parts are made of Chinese components.
