Toyec, Ironmand and Dobinson's oh my!
Two things. 2020 4runner TRD ORP with KDSS.
1. I ordered some springs 1 x 521600-P - Toytec Front 2.5" Lift Coil Springs.
A friend gave me his Dobinson GS59 574 struts that he was no longer using and I had heard good things aboutthe toytec springs. I had a shop put them together with new tophats from Ironman 4x4 America. I also installed ironman america's UCA's Now that they are installed, I'm 5" higher (19.25-24.5) in the front than I was before, and I'm wondering if combining the items like I did made for something significantly higher than what it would have done if I had just bough premade struts for a 2.5' lift. Trying to figure out the maths, lol. I know they will "settle" but this seems a bit extreme.
2. I also ordered, by mistake I believe, RCCXD-P - Toytec Rear XD Extra Duty Superflex Coils (Pair) and a set of stainless steel brake line extensions. I have NO extra weight on my rig currently. I thought I ordered the hd not the XD and could put the springs in, and then drive it down to the shop I have do the work I don't want to do and have them put the brake lines in and align it and such. I couldn't even get close to putting the springs in, as the brake lines wouldn't stretch far enough for me to put them in.
I don't mind running these if it's not going to damage things, but I've heard that I can only lift so far with KDSS and not prepared to rip that out yet. at this point it looks like i'm going to be a good 5" higher. I'm ok doing drop brackets that are made for the kdss to align the angles better and I've already done a diff drop with dobinson's kit.
am I crazy? I plan on using the full flex of whatever setup I have, and this is definitely not a mall crawler, but I don't want something that will break expensive other systems or damage my pan hard/trailing arms/links whatever.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Could you clarify how you are measuring the lift height you are at? The standard would be to measure before and after hub center to bottom of fender. 20" in the front is approximately stock.
I do think the XD springs will be harsh in the rear and maybe provide more lift than you want. However, since they are an easy install you could give them a shot and see how you like them

Take a look at the specs on the Dobinsons shock itself, I believe the 574’s are their extended travel shocks which add 1” of lift to whatever coil you’re using. So setting it to 2.5” really means you’re getting 3.5” of lift assuming the springs are correct.
I’m sure someone more experienced than myself will chime in. You might just not have a spring and shock combo for 2.5”.
I run the IMS 574 which add 1” of lift over my coils spec to the front.

I did measure from center hub to the bottom of the fender, before and after. I was 19.25 front and 20.5 rear and now 23.25 front and 21.25 rear.
I can’t put the rear springs in because the brake lines won’t stretch far enough to allow me to install them.

Ya, ideally you don’t want too much more than 3” up front. I was running about 4” for maybe 5k miles due to running a coil that was just too stiff for my needs.
At 3” you’d also want to be sure to put on a diff drop, and consider new upper control arms if you can’t get the alignment in spec. Both of those have been debated to death around needing them or not.
I’d look into maybe a different coil, over 3-3.5” of lift you might run into issues with the CV axles.

Also looking at your signature you do have KDSS, I don’t and am no expert at all but I believe there are several shutter valves that need to be opened when you install the lift and then closed? Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in.
Not sure if a shop installed it or you did it yourself?

ok so that's about 4" lift. It's likely it will settle down to 3" with some time and compression of the springs. The coil you listed is a 600# coil so it should settle some. Many run 3" or higher lifts without significant issues. If you're happy with the ride at whatever height it ends up at I'd go with it. As was said previously you will probably need to do a re calibration on the KDSS system which is detailed here somewhere. (If your rig isn't leaning then I wouldn't bother doing the re calibration)
As far as the rear coils go you would need a spring compressor to get taller than stock springs in.
Don't bother with the extended break lines. It's not necessary at the ride heights your looking at.
I'd skip the diff drop too, doesn't really do much.

So I can just use a spring compressor to put the springs in? rent one?

You could, I didn’t have to on mine when I swap rear coils. Lift the truck, put jack stands under the frame so the rear axle can go to full droop then jack up one side of the axle which drops the other side more. I was able to do this with no issues and no spring compressor. I don’t have the KDSS to deal with though.

I tried that six ways from sunday and even disconnected the kdss swaybar on the static side and loosened it on the hydraulic side. The stop was my brake lines being tighter than heck and i was still two inches from getting the springs in there. I'm having a shop put in the extended brake lines and my springs tomorrow. We'll see what it looks like! I'm sure it'll be fine driving to the mall, but I'm worried about actually articulation damaging panhard or other links or driveline angles.

Panhard should be fine for a short drive. The 5th Gen isn’t too awful even after it’s lifted. I did choose to get a new longer panhard bar for mine just to get everything back in alignment in the rear.
Lots of folks go with adjustable panhard bars, I Offroad a lot and didn’t feel like adjustable would stay where it was set very well. I got a slightly longer one from Resz fab. Solid and doesn’t break the bank.
I also got longer sway bar end links as well just to allow for better articulation.
