Jackery, Goal Zero Portable Power Cargo Mount Ideas

Trying to find some pics or ideas of what folks are doing to mount and carry their portable power solutions in their 5th gens.

I have an Iceco 45L fridge and a Jackery 500. Plan is to strap the fridge to the rear cargo slide tray and run it off the Jackery when camped and charge it via the rear DC while overlanding to the next camp spot.
Tested it out and the Jackery can power the fridge and charge at the same time. 48+ hour with no power.

Thing is most pics and builds have their fridge visible, but never where they mount the portable battery.
Before I start designing from scratch was wondering what everyone else does for Jackery/Goal Zero storage in the cargo area to power their fridge.

Pic of the set up and obligatory shot of the last time out camping with the crew.

Thumbs up

We use our Goal Zero 500X to power our SnoMaster LP66D fridge. Since we are in and out of it quite a bit, we typically get a little over 36 hours without charging. I have my fridge strapped down, but the GZ usually just sits next to it. This is because we use the other ports on the GZ for charging devices, and sometimes I will plug the SnoMaster back into the truck so I can use the GZ in the tent.

...all that being said - I'm interested to see what people have come up with...

I remove the rear seat bottoms with just the two of us traveling. Rear seat backs are up. Ratchet strap the fridge where the bottoms were. The Jackery sits on the floor behind the driver with a rubber truckers strap holding it in place.
If we sleep in the back I have to move the fridge to the front passenger seat for the night.

Nice, yeah, I'm traveling solo on this next trip and my plan is to sleep in the back and relo the fridge to the passenger seat for the nights on the trail.
Glad to know someone else has already done this. I have no idea if there are any risks of sleeping in the same enclosed area as the fridge. Will be below 35f where we're headed so limited options to crack a lot of windows.

You might want to practice moving your fridge into the front and do a fit check, it can get heavy when filled with food and drinks (I’m using cans now, bottles are too heavy!). I move the passenger seat way back, put down a towel and maybe a piece of cardboard to sit it on. Most fridges are pretty big, you need to take care not to bang up your doors, seats , or glovebox trim when moving it around.

Even in cold weather you’ll want to crack the windows a little to get ventilation, it can get humid in there and cause condensation on the windows and other surfaces. Maybe get a battery operated fan to stir up the air.

If it’s cold enough you probably could turn the fridge off for the night. Most are pretty well insulated. Some fridges vibrate when cycling on, and the noise may interrupt some light sleepers.
Anyway, have fun on your adventure.

My Goal Zero 400 Lithium (soon to be replaced by Dometic PLB40) hangs loose in front (rear seat area folded down) my Dometic fridge.

Made a platform next to our platform for our Yeti 400Lithium. The platform is hollow underneath for all of the wires to tuck away nicely. It now sits in the last configuration as I have since wired an ARB plug for constant power to the fridge (now on a fridge slide) and the Goal Zero is just back-up power. I could usually get about 18-24 hours of fridge runtime on the Goal Zero for our 50qt ARB. Now as a back-up it is perfect.

My Jackery 500 is strapped in front of the fridge, between the fridge and the back hatch. This allows the fridge to run from it, the Jackery to plug into one of the various charging ports I have back there, and also access to the Jackery to plug in anything that needs to be powered when in camp. Can also plug in the solar there as well for recharging.

I thought about putting it behind the fridge, between it and the rear seat back, but decided that was silly for access while camped when the back hatch is already open.
