Function over form.
Besides if I wanted to look cool I would have bought a raptor or a gladiator on 40's. Not a slow brick muilti tool of a vehicle.

I like to think that I make practical decisions with my mods. But I still like for them to look good too.

Have you seen the shit people post? They're worried if their foglights match their headlights. Does this bumper make my ass look big?

As far as ''Cool''.........I only care if it looks cool to ME! I have a sense of what I think looks cool and it's probably mine alone. If someone else likes it then that's cool too. I am old enough to not care for the ''Everything flat black'' look.......I like old school Shiny Chrome and Aluminum with a White paint Job. I guess the ''Look'' varies with the color to some degree. https://www.toyota-4runner.org/attac...1&d=1605836445

This I also agree with. I love to give folks with lifted Wranglers and pickups a hard time when their axles are so clean it's obvious the vehicle has never left pavement.

I'd rather not let on that I have actually done anything too it.

Bro you know these wheels don’t clean themselves, of course my mods have to look just as good as me. My Nankang mud terrains see more dirt than any of you on BFGs and I got these guns from all the use of my hood mounted hi-lift jack.

Put it this way...
This old codger's cut his own hair for over 20 years to save money. Admittedly, half the time it looks like shit. But when I'm havin' fun in the mountains, where my short hairs are more functional, the last thing I'm thinkin' 'bout is how I look.
So I'm sure as hell not in this "new" 4R money pit to look good.
But if function over form, in my hair or on my rig, occasionally gets me some special attention by a mountain gal who has similar values, then it's a good day to be alive.
You betcha.

Someone actually complained about you not having stickers, seriously? The first thing I did was remove the TRD OFF ROAD emblems because emblems and stickers are tacky. That guy would hate me.

I'm 43 and have been cutting my own hair since I was 16. It's a buzz cut, so it's not much work. Clippers, 1/4" guard, and that's it.

Not sure how I would have reacted to this interaction. I agree with most, function over looks (buy once cry once on quality mindset). I do build trying to compliment other parts as well. To each their own as long as it doesn’t endanger others or themselves.

Livermore Costco.
I was loading lots of shit into my truck and couldn’t get away. I park far from the front because I need room to get out with my bad knee but he parked next to me.
Looked like an Instagram boi with a overglamper photo princess.

I prefer the sleeper look. I only run spacers because I need to kick out the wheels further for trail use and clear the UCAs... that and I run snow tires in the winter when I travel to CO and WY and don't want to spend a few grand on fancy Chicom wheels.
Most of the mods were to improve off road use on fire roads and washboards (terrible roads they plow with graders) without sacrificing on road performance.
And yes
@ sn_85
it's starting to look like a shitbox from years of heavy use.
