As a former master tech, I'd like to say good job on the tutorial. You remind me of a guy on here that was a tech at Audi IIRC. Just curious if it was you under a new handle?
You certainly don't have to confirm if my thought is correct. The member I'm thinking of knew what he was doing, too.

Audi Tech was my old username ;)
I was a shop foreman and a dual brand master for VW and Audi before leaving that world behind. Now I do quality testing and development of preproduction and prototype vehicles and technology.

Ahh yes, I recall the username now. Good to see someone with experience posting tutorials with good practices.

I wasn’t surprised to see the gasket list for $25 but a $63 filter got me a little. I’ve got a dealer I use that knocks about 20% off those prices but I think I’ll be on an extended interval for the filter change like DougR mentioned.
Looks like there’s a free shipping offer from Toyota Parts and Accessories - Official Online Store that ends tomorrow night. Guess I better make an order.

Amazing vid. Thank You!
My plan is to do this every 50K. Is that overkill. Should I just do a drain and fill every 50k? Mostly highway driving. Minimal towing occasion u-haul or boat.

The factory recommendation is a fluid change every 60,000 if you tow.

I mention it in the video but I use a Carista dongle and the OBD Fusion app with the Toyota enhanced diagnostics upgrade. You can save some money with a generic ELM 327 dongle but it’s not an expensive setup.

Sorry to bug you on this...
Your setup looked way easier than using my old laptop with TechStream but that Toyota enhancement is an $80 add-on. Is that what is needed on top of the OBD Fusion app ($10) and Carista Dongle ($27) to pull Transmission temps?
