K&N # 57-9034 maf location?

Hey there I’ve been looking into this for a bit now, wondering if the stock MAF location moves? Or does it stay where it is? I’ve seen some of these
Kits include maf harness extenders and adapters.. wondering if anyone can chime in? As well how do you like it? Why did you opt for this route over a full INTAKE replacement?

The installation instructions (http://kandn.com/instructions/57-9034_inst.pdf) show that the MAF remains in the original location. All this kit does is replace the resonator boxes with a tube.

My recommendation is to just get the filter element (Replacement Air Filter). Seems the this kit with the tube is twice the cost of the filter element alone. Seems like a lot of money to pay just for a tube.

The main thing I want is the straight non baffled tube... as the factory baffles create more restriction for air to enter engine as well as quiets down the intake... the tube is actually what I’m after.. the k&n filters are “meh.” Much rather the dry flow ones!

There is always the factory TRD CAI, but it costs more: Toyota 4Runner Trd cold air intake system - PTR0389100 - Genuine Toyota Accessory

It'd be nice if the TRD intake take tube fit the stock airbox. I looked at it last year and no, the TRD intake tube is not plug and play with the stock airbox. On this KN intake tube the MAF stays on the factory air box, nice!

I agree, plus the K&N is half the cost and uses the same size air filter as OEM.

It can be done, I made some measurements and used this HPS silicone reducer with a TRD tube flipped upside down with my stock airbox and with a TRD coupler kit at the throttle body.

HPS 3.75 to 4.5 Inch (95mm to 114mm) 4-ply Reinforced Reducer Coupler Silicone
