Do I need new bump stops?
I have a OME 3 inch lift and went to 33 inch tires. I am using the stock bump stops and never thought about upgrading them or anything. I do notice that when I hit a bump it is like riding over a brick.

"heavy springs" might have something to do with that.
all you need to verify is that the shocks arent the limiting factor to your up travel, if they are you will blow them out. Make sure the bump stops engage before the shocks bottom out. cycling the suspension without the springs, just the shocks installed is the best way. The rear is easier to do obviously.

You can get away without them. But adding Durobumps definitely softened up those landings.

+1 for Durobumps. Even vehicles that don't off road should have these as it makes everything from speed bumps and deeper dips to heavy duty off roading a much smoother experience.
And yes, ensure your shocks aren't bottoming out first. There are bump stop extensions that push them downward to engage earlier. It's basically just a block of metal lol.

It was OME shocks and spring all around and I added Dirt King UCA's. How do I make sure the shocks aren't bottoming out?

With the frame supported high enough, take the springs out, leave the shocks mounted and cycle the suspension with a jack until either the bump stops begin to engage or if the shocks begin to bottom out then measure how much the bump stops need to come down to prevent the shock from hitting itself.

I'm weary of those extensions and the factory bumps, I have around 2.5" lift in the rear and I hit my factory height bumps still

All depends on shock body lengths. If the collapsed length allows for the stock bump stop height, I think that's preferable.
I know one of Toytec's rear kits uses the extension, and wasn't sure as to why, but I imagine it's to have a longer shock body which increases oil capacity. Anyone else know why they do this?

they call it a "long travel" kit for the rear. it gets alot of droop but it also limits up travel so the shock doesnt top out. i think thats the one youre referring to.

the aftermarket bump stops are softer than stock... So even if you hit, its softer, vs. a sudden jolting stop.

I tell everyone basically this:
If you do the type of driving where you do bottom out, and often, upgrading the bump stops is a great idea so that you get a softer absorption when it does bottom out.
The stock ones are really quite firm.
And yeah, some extended length shocks require them due to their longer compressed length (they would bottom out before the bump stops would engage), but in OP's case, that won't happen with the OME's. He just needs better rear bump stops. I run Timbren on my 4runner.
