Can you install an OEM Sub and amp on stock non equiped?

Just wondering if an OEM subwoofer can be installed on a new 4runner ORP that does not currently have the subwoofer. If so, is it plug and play or will it require the BassoMatic for slicing and dicing ?

Thanks

Usually the outputs from the OEM head unit are different for the JBL units. I don't know the wiring 100% but I would be shocked if it were plug and play.
Unless you have a donor vehicle, it would be cheaper and better sounding to do an aftermarket sub in the same space.

The JBL systems in 4Runners use a separate amp for all the speakers. Look into OEM Audio Plus - OEM Audio Plus for something that looks fairly stock. They won't sell you just the sub though.

You can add a sub and amp to a stock head unit, I did a whole write up on it. You can't use the JBL amp with the non-JBL head unit. Just use an aftermarket amp and you're golden
