6112/5160 - Help with rear coils on (minimal lift)
*Sincere apologies for another suspension thread; exhausted the google, and find myself dumbfounded on coils*
Overall: 2021 ORP w/ KDSS; going to add ~120lbs (sliders and skid, no bumpers) and looking at 6112/5160 to minimize nose dive and improve handling.
For Fronts: Planning to use lowest setting, Clip 1, along with the Bilstein 600lb coil. I believe that lift will be a 1" lift, is that right? (Found some bilstein directions that say 1.7"....)
For Rears: Two questions, 1) Is a stock coil height possible? It looks like my only option would be a Dobinson spring. *If* I have to go with a 1" rear lift, I've found three options, but they all have very different spring rates. 2)Based on the above information, in either a stock spring height or a 1" lift, what spring rates would be ideal?
Any guidance, insight, or ridicule on my ignorance would be greatly appreciated.

Just curious what the price point on that setup would be? I only ask because you can get a complete Dobinsons kit for approximately $900 with front and rear coils. Depends what you want out of your shocks, I like the progressive valving of Dobinsons vs. digressive valving of Bilsteins (had Bilsteins on my last truck).
If you stick with the above setup, here are the Dobinsons coils I'd recommend.
Front (if you wanted to match colors to something other than black) - C59-238 = 1.0 - 1.25" lift, 586 lb rate. You would set the 6112 on the lowest setting, the coil would perform all lift.
Rear = C59-323; stock rear height, 220lbs rate (teal only).
C59-599; 1.0-1.25" lift, 220lbs rate.
If you went with the C59-99 rear coils, I would go with a C59-300 (~1.75-2.0" lift) to level out the truck. That should still be nominal enough where you wouldn't need UCAs.

Maybe my experience will help. I have a 2019 ORP w/KDSS. I have sliders and a roof rack that doesn't weight much. I have Bilstein 6112s in the front set on the 3rd circlip for a 1.75" lift (600lbs coils). In the back I went with Bilsteins 1" coils and Bilstein 5160s. I have stock size KO2s. I feel like I got more than 1" of lift in the rear and it does ride a bit more stiff in the rear. My after lift measurements (hub to fender) are 20.75" front and 23.75" in the rear, so that's like 3" of rake. If I was to do it again, I think I'd leave the stock rear springs and get a more level look and possibly ride more comfortable.

I used the Eibach rear springs for the 4th gen and got around 3/4” lift. I think if you set the fronts at 1.2 or 1.5 these might work for you.

Thank you Sundy - much appreciated. I'm thinking since the 6112's come w/ the 600lb springs, I'll would try and go with those in the fronts - and then I could go with either of the two Dobinson options you mentioned. On price - Dobinson twins would def be more cost effective, and I could just as well spring for the IMS. However I *think* the digressive valving of the 6112 would probably work out better for me (95% daily driver, 5% offroad and fun) but I would be lying if I understood anything more than that elusive linear/digressive/progressive graph. My budget was: best under $2k option

Interesting, and thank you for the pic - the Bilstein rear coil I believe is "36-281817" and is listed as 1"-1.5" lift on the Wheelers site, is that right? I think that one is 400lbs? The Eibach 1" spring that Harris mentioned, I believe is 202lbs

Yea, the part number for mine is 36-281817. Bilstein, on their site markets them as a 1" rear lift. I just checked Wheelers site and they market them as 1"-1.5" lift. The one that you're referring to at 400lbs constant load is for part number 36-281831, "provides approximately 1.5" lift with a heavy constant load of approximately 400lbs."

I'm sure either option is great. I went with the IMS based on driving 30K+ a year and wanting something great for the highway and also great offroad. I'm VERY SATISFIED with the ride of these shocks.

Dobinsons has a front coil C59-748 for the 6112s, which is an inch higher than the Pro coil, set to the bottom clip. Then match it with the rear coil C59-599 which lifts it 1 to 1.25 inches. Those coils should be able to handle the sliders and skid. I used the 5100s paired with 302 and 505 coils for a 2.5 and 1.5 inch lift. The picture with the graphite wheels has 265s, but now have 285s on FN Pro wheels, with skid, sliders, rack, full size spare E Load, tire carrier, ladder and third row. The coils make a better ride with 5100s, so I can only imagine the 6112/ 5160s will out perform.
