If I listened to all the nay-sayers, I wouldn't have 35's, a supercharger, 4.88 gears, and I would never do the trails that I have done.

As far as going big or going home... I agree!!! Believe me, if I could fit 40's I'd get them, forget 39's!
I think they mean to say that there should be some concerns on reliability. Like if you are going to always break your steering rack due to the 37s and rocks, then that isn't fun lol

If you break something, you get something stronger to replace it. If you replace it with the same part and expect it to last, you are a fool.

So again, my question is more towards fitting the tires, not reliability of other parts. Thanks.

It's mostly about helping you only do the work once. Many of us have been down this road to the end. Maybe you've done the same on other vehicles before too? There's a good reason that there's some pretty standard formulas for various tire size and vehicle weights.

I'm all for experimenting until it fails. That's how we learn what works. Since it's your $$ I vote for portal boxes.

In all seriousness though, it really might be worth considering a bracket lift set at 3" instead of 6". You'd have a lot better geometry than maxing out the control arm angles and it might help the lifespan of the front CVs. It's a tried and true setup for 35s and should be pretty easy to clear 37s too and also have some down travel left.
