With mine if the cords are plugged in you don't see the lights. I just always leave the cords in. Some people have taken them a part and pulled the led's. While they may exist I was not able to find one on Amazon. If you don't want one that plugs into an existing switch plate then Blue Sea and other companies have lots of options without an LED.

OP---have you done this swap yet? I am thinking of going the opposite direction and swapping mine 12V out for the dual USB. Interested in a trade?

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of ordering one and trying to carefully take apart and remove the LED.

When I ordered my 2021, I chose the dual USB as an option and was told it had to be done at the factory (which they were able to do). Don’t know what that means for the OP, but wanted to clarify that.

Probably dependent on regions. As a result, “officially” could be factory only in some regions. But thanks to internet can be purchased and added at anytime.

I was able to order dual USB port/plugs and have it installed through the dealership. I had it done about a week after I bought my limited. I never used the cigarette lighter, but my limited still has a lighter ‘port’ in the armrest.

I installed the 00016-00225 kit last weekend. It cost about $47 from my local dealership. I discovered this mod and got the installation directions from TIS for which I bought a 2-day pass for a separate issue. The installation is very easy, make sure you use the drill template to locate the hole correctly or you risk interference between the port and the console rear vent tube.

Damn, you beat me to it! Have you done the swap yet, will the hole have to be modified for the LED plate?

I have not. Looking at a pic of the part on eBay, it looks like no modification is necessary as the part is round behind the plate. I may look around at other aftermarket USB options. It doesn't particularly look "stock" as it sits in front of the dash rather than inset as the data port USB. Another minor annoyance, the cover swings down on the dual port while the cover swings up on the data port. Small but annoying to me. Functionally it should be an easy swap, I'm just a little stuck on the aesthetics and not really in a hurry. I can always use the rear seat Ports if I need to charge multiple devices.

Not sure which 4R model you have but in my previous 12 Trail I mounted two dual data/charge receptacles in the heat seat blanks in the console. That said it was for an aftermarket Sony head unit so I could have car-play in that 4R. These units fit perfectly flush in the those slots. Also fit in the blank slot to the left of the steering wheel if available. I would think a search of Toyota parts would result in finding the original lighter socket.
Not a huge fan of the kit. It looks more OEM than an adapter plugged into the cigarette lighter, but ...

1) It's not future proof. The world is moving to USB-C and

2) It requires wire tapping, which a lot of folks don't mind, but which always gives me the willies.

But I can see the appeal.

USB-C on the DEVICE side. Majority of chargers still use USB-A on the brick itself.

The dual USB power port is a port or dealer (or even user) installed option. The '21 models come from the factory with a 12v outlet next to the dash mounted USB port. I opted to have the 12v outlet replaced with the port installed accessory on my '21 TRD Pro.

I suspect dealers are specifying this option be installed along with other accessories once the trucks arrive in port. I kind of wish I had not ordered this as it's much cheaper to buy yourself, simple to install and I'd still have the 12v outlet which I could place somewhere else in the truck should I choose but that's another matter. When you order this option, the 12v outlet is removed and not included with your truck :-(

What they told you is inaccurate. At the port, they removed the 12v outlet and replaced it with the dual USB outlets. I also ordered this (have the same truck as you). I regret it because I paid $200 for this and they left some scratches on the garnish near the plug presumably when they installed this accessory. I could have done this myself and saved $150 AND the scratches to the surrounding plastic.

I added one of these to the center console storage. Replaced the factory cigarette lighter.
