I've thought about going this route. What happens if the airbags get deployed? Thinking the phone and mount could get launched in to your face.

Kinda my worry as well. Otherwise I like that it's out of the way, without blocking the view.

Interesting. I thought it would since I saw the airbag behind the pillar cover when running a hardwire.

I have the same one but with the magnet mount / wireless charging. So far it's been great - much better than the cheap one I bought that only lasted a few months. I was surprised none of the included adhesive was necessary to hold it.

Works well for me. I have a RAM mount to go on top of it.

There is an airbag assembly under the A pillar cover as seen in the photo below. Maybe it deploys in an upward direction away from the bottom where the pro-clip mounts. Looks risky to me, but maybe
@ Saker
can chime in here with his opinion. He actually had his deploy in an accident.

Assembly is there, but it does not deploy from there. I was concerned about this too until someone told me. If you look at the video 1:40 it shows you where it deploys.
I still leave that to the experts though because I am not 100% sure.

Here’s another video of the deployment during a driver side frontal impact. In slo-mo you can see that the driver’s side bag is inflated from top down, starting above the side window, then unfurling down the A pillar toward the windshield. The tail end of the bag doesn’t go all the way down to the dashboard, so it seems that if the clip is at the very bottom of the pillar it may be OK and not pop off.

I have the same A-Pillar mount but with a Schosche magnet. Works perfect and doesn't clutter the center console/radio area.

It deploys as shown in the second video as far as I remember. It does not deploy forward towards the windshield, but fills in between the side curtain and the steering wheel bag.
Keeps you from hitting the A Pillar.
I know all but the passenger front bag deployed. All side curtains!
Oh, BTW..... the drivers side A Pillar Handle Mod did not restrict that air bag on the driver’s side from deployment!

Watch your video again at the 1:39-1:40 time. The bag shoots kind of down or on an angle rearward and down out of the A-pillar.
I don't know how it would affect the bracket. But it does have an air bag that deploys out of that panel.
***EDIT: I didn't read to the end of this thread, so I thought I'd observed something... only to see everyone else saw the same thing. Sorry to be repeating the info!

It seems pedestrians could easily be walking in the blind spot created by this mount.
