As a former master tech at a Toyota dealer, and various independent shops, I have to say that these "top end cleaners" are mostly just a wallet flush on modern fuel injected vehicles. Particularly on port injected engines like the 4Runner still has.
There ARE some DI engines that get buildup on the valves that could eventually need cleaning. But again, the 4Runner does not have a DI engine.
Just run quality gas, and your 4Runner will run fine with no need for a "top end cleaner".

Top engine clean maintenance

I used to add it to the fuel in my old Cummins powered Dodge and saw some benefits and no negative impacts. The thought behind doing so was to add some lubrication to the fuel that was taken out when ultra-low sulfur diesel was introduced. Modern diesel engines are designed for this fuel and don’t need it.
I wouldn’t put it in my 4Runner.

Sea Foam was developed for use on outboard 2 stoke boat engines. When the company developed a reputation in that market, they decided to expand into the 4 stroke engine market and attempt to compete against better products. If you really have carbon buildup, then I suggest trying a product that has PEA in it, What's The Best Fuel Injector Cleaner of 2020? Here's the Top 7!
In the 80's, I used to own a vehicle that built up carbon on the pistons and pinged. I would add a decarburizing fuel treatment to a tank of fuel and verify that carbon was removed by pulling a spark plug. I forget what the product was, but it often worked with just one treatment. In those days, spark plugs on a 4 cylinder engine were not embedded so deeply into the engine. I could easily see most of piston by shining a flashlight into the cylinder. Since then, I have never used a fuel treatment on any vehicle.

The last time any of my Toyota's were at the dealership is when I drove them off the showroom floor. The "free" oil changes and maintenance they offer, during warranty, is just a scam to get buyers hooked on their overpriced, sub-par services. Toyota make a great vehicle, but their dealer network sucks donkey dick. As member "Electroboy" recently said: "Nobody gives a shit about your stuff like you do" Amen brother!

I fell for that way back in the day on an '83 Cressida. Is your truck acting badly ... missing, surging or anything abnormal?
I've used Techron, but not for years. Never needed anything on any of my 'Runners since '98. Know nothing of Seafoam, so I won't comment. That said, save your money and just put something in the tank ... if you really feel you need it.

I hear ya on the "Nobody gives a shit". Unfortunately I'm too old and too fat to do my own maintenance. Especially with that archaic, diabolical canister oil filter. This dealer, for the last seventeen years and five 'Runners and one Tundra, has not tried to sell me any "snake oil". I must be one lucky somenabich. HAH!
On another note, when my aunt was looking for a car, I said "Get a Toyota, they're bullet proof". 'Nuff said!
They wouldn't let me put the "t" in *****. LOL!

My 02 4R went for warranty paint work on the hood.
It came back with a cigarette burn in the front bumper...
Missing power antenna assembly...
And the steering rack was so FUBAR'd, you could turn the wheel from 12 to either 3 or 9 and basically still go straight.
They told me nothing was wrong.
I got the the tech to get in, said we will go for a quick ride.
I asked him if he had children.
I turned the wheel and showed him what it was doing.
I then turned to him and asked... "Would you let me pick your children up in this vehicle after what I just showed you?"
He said I was right and they replaced it all.
So yes, they don't give a flying F about your vehicle.

Or you can just use Chevron gasoline every few tankfulls. Best cleaner out there.
They even sell that formula to other companies.
If you want to make sure your E10 gas doesn't have any water in it, add Startron from time to time.

But if you don’t have a 100% nitrogen you’ll lose MPG and your ride will suffer.

Alcohol is the main ingredient in dry-gas. With E10, I don't believe one needs to add anything for water.
