TRD Off Road vs Premium

I'm debating weather I should pull the trigger on the TO standard or premium. I know I want KDSS on either model.

Is it worth getting the premium:

- Sunroof option
- Heated "leather" seats
- Keyless entry
- Turn signal

What do you guys think?

I have a '19 ORP. I never use the remote start. My wife loves the heated seats and the sunroof. I like the heated seats too. Those pleather seats get cold.

Turn signal? On the mirrors? No big deal.

I sold a 2014 RX350 to buy this and I sorely miss the parking assist sensors. They aren't available I know but I just wanted to throw that in there.

It’s all your preferences. I really like having the keyless entry, heated seats, and the sunroof (for added light in the cabin, I rarely open it).

I wanted everything except the sunroof. I've had bad experiences with them in the past and ended up never opening it again. The heated seats makes snow trips much more comfortable.

Yes. I actually like the Softex a lot. There are also some nicer touches with the red stitching and TRD logo on the seats. I always prefer a sunroof for cabin light and heated seats in NJ winters are always a must.

Mine is a 2018 and does not have true keyless entry, but not having to take keys out of your pocket is very nice as I've had it on other vehicles. Assuming the newer ones with push starts have that...

Mine has KDSS and I love it, so good call on that. I think it drives amazing.

On the TRD ORP, I love the fake leather seats and the heat, so does the wife. Keeps spills from soaking in. I do have the sun roof and the sliding rear cargo tray and love both.

I had leather in my last 4Runner, and it took lots of attention to keep it looking good over the years. So after reading of the Softex holding up very well for years with little attention, I wanted it.

I enjoy having a moonroof.

After driving all of the 4Runner models, I wanted KDSS.

I liked the options that were available on the Premium version, so that's what I went with. Only you can decide your priorities.

i just went through the same choice. I ended up with the Premium. Mainly for the softex and moonroof. I have my shopping notes right here in front of me This is what the Premium has over the non.

Heated mirrors,
option for moonroof
push button start
Softex seats
cargo net
homelink garage door buttons
auto dimming mirror
non-JBL premium audio -basically no dynamic Nav or voice recognition.

Good Luck!

I love the “Softex” heated seats. My passengers do as well, especially the furry ones that shed. Coming from mostly leather seats in the past, it seems like this synthetic alternative is more durable and less smelly.

As for the rest of the premium options, don’t need and don’t notice them.

I vote with the others, get the Premium. When I bought my '18 two years ago, I got the premium and really like the Softex seats and moon roof. There are a few other little things two, that just add icing on the cake.

I might have paid a little more for the ORP to get the sunroof had my '08 sunroof not began rusting almost beyond repair. It was in pretty bad shape. If I had kept my '08, one of my to-do's was to get a rust free replacement from the SE/SW.

Now that I've been without one for the better part of the year, can't say I miss it all that much.

Another vote for the premium. In Canada, the TRD OR only comes fully loaded equivalent to the premium in the USA, but even if I have a choice I’d opt for the fully loaded ORP KDSS.

The only option I could do without is sunroof, but definitely get the premium with KDSS!

The heater works very well in my OR with cloth seats, which are awesome by the way. I have no need for butt warmers. I had heated seats in a Jetta TDI which had leatherette, and I rarely used them even when I lived in snow country. I personally don't like fake leather seats, and have no use for a sunroof. I would have paid more for the standard OR with cloth seats and no sunroof to be honest.

The 2021 standard OR doesn't have keyless entry? My 2019 does.

I'd rather do the cloth seats if they offered that in the ORP but sucks that they dont.

As far as keyless entry, I think its only available on the premium models.
