Follow the directions but if I remember from my install correctly, if you have an OEM hood sensor/switch, then you need to cut that wire they call out in the directions. If you don't have an OEM one, leave the wire intact. This was on my 2015 Trail with the G-key. I think the kit comes with a hood sensor/switch that you can choose to install if you want, but I didn't install it.
