BajaRack TRD Pro Maxtrax Mount & MAXTRAX Mounting Pins

Anyone running the mounting pins with the BajaRack TRD rack mounts? The mounts worked out super well for me over the summer, though getting the traxs on and off is a complete pain in the ass with the wingnuts the mounting plates come with.

Emailed BajaRack but they couldn't tell me if they'd fit the existing holes.

I have a set of these due for delivery on Monday 1-4. I was planning to modify these a bit for my X Bull tracks. I know they are different than the Max tracks.
I will keep you updated...

If you want to dump the wingnuts and cotter pins try this:
"Comfort-Grip threaded through hole knobs"
These are available from McMaster -Carr and are about $4.00 each.
For the 3/8 bolt the kit comes with, use part number: 5532T35.

FWIW, the XBULL trax have their mounting holes closer together and toward the middle of the trax, not out on the ends. I will simply drill and thread two new holes in the BajaRack mounting plate. Since they don't "nest" as tightly as the MaxTrax I will be using longer bolts and these knobs to make the mounting easier to deal with.
Good Luck!

Definitely would be an improvement over the wingnuts, appreciate the details.

I'm inclined to order a set of the mounting pins just to see if they'll fit and take this route as the runner up.

The wingnuts work really well to hold them down, they were rock solid all the way up to Drummond Island and back with nary a rattle even on trail, but I dread having to use them in an extraction situation where I'm already annoyed.
