- wrap the roof spoiler a la venture model.
- new roof rack, as you can see that from the rear.
- shave the shark fin and replace with something more prominent or relocate to hatch.
None of these mods beat real AT/ MT tires or a wide stance if you want to flex on Ned Flanders.

These are excellent ideas, Snowtrooper. I’ve realized that I love the look of the 4R from all angles except the back and was hoping for something quick to make it look less average. But it’s not like there are options for other vehicles that aren’t available for the 4R.
As I see it, here’s a complete list of things that directly modify the 4Runner rear:
- custom color roof spoiler
- smoke 3rd brake light
- tint window
- blackout or custom color emblem
- license plate frame, license plate cover
- aftermarket tail lights
- custom color rear valence
- black exhaust tip
And these are things that indirectly change the look of the from the rear:
- roof rails/roof rack
- aux lights
- spare tire mount/ladder
- lift kit
- larger/wider tires
- aftermarket bumper
