KDSS idiot light but no symptoms

Been away for a long time, but finally getting back to where I can do some things with my T4R.

Need to address this issue: KDSS dash light is on (has been for a few months but that’s only been about 3k miles since covid/WFH). There are no other symptoms. No leaks, no clunks, no noises, no changes in driving feel at all. And the light has - at times - even gone off for a few minutes here and there.

My truck is stock re: the drivetrain and suspension bits with exception of running 275s since new (125k miles now).

I’ve read a few KDSS horror stories here, but not this one.

So as Billy Ray Valentine said to the Duke brothers’ limo driver in Trading Places: What’s my move?

Just guessing:
If no other flags are thrown, then it's probably related to a pressure sensor or one of the two solenoid control valves as the other systems would throw other codes (VSC). If this is new and maybe goes away when warm, then I would point towards the pressure sensor / system pressure.

If it's driving fine, and you can live with the light, then let it be. If it's bothering you, then you're probably going to have to find a dealership. I don't know if Toyota dealerships deal with KDSS as much as the Lexus (GX) side of the house.

Also, if you wanted to fix it yourself, then you're going to have to pull codes, techstream, etc. There was a 2010 manual floating around on here somewhere at one point.

Take it to a Lexus dealership and have them pull codes and diagnose. They have the tools for KDSS and not all Toyota dealerships do.

Better to know now what the issues are than later down the road.

Hi, did you ever get an answer from the dealer about your kdss warning light? I have the exact problem on my 17 trd off-road.
