Anyone use NEXEN roadian AT pro tires????

I’ve heard of nexen in the past and I actually have nexens on my daily driver... but never really thought of them as AT tires for the 4runner!!!! I thought I was set on the cooper at3 or yokohama g015s, but then my buddy said “ I can get you nexen roadian at pro tires in the size you want for about $260 cheaper than the coopers and about $225 cheaper than the yokos!” So now , I’m thinking...

Has anyone had these tires!!? WhT do the rest of you think?? Or should I stick to the cooper discoverer at3 or Yokohama geolandar g015s? I drive on pavement a lot but definitely a weekend warrior with the 4runner!!

There's a reason they're cheaper. Read some reviews about them and decide from there.

I did , the reviews are all good.. but I was hoping to hear first hand from
Someone who ran them and will buy again, or something that ran them and will not! They are cheaper also because they are not exactly a big brand name.. doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t any good right?

My truck came with Nexen Roadian tires. I decided to give them a shot. They were junk. I took them off only weeks after buying the truck. Put on some Toyo Open Country C/T tires, and they have been much better.

I do have Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 LT 265/70R17 E tires on my 4Runner. They have been great in rain, snow, on and off-road, and ride smooth and quiet.

They are a bigger OE supplier. I've only run one set of Nexens and it was because they came on my previous daily driver (Kia Optima Turbo). They were absolutely horrible. I'd pay the difference for the Coopers or another more premium brand. $250 isn't worth safety IMO. Check out Hankook Dynapro AT2 as well. Another good brand at a great price point that is a more road oriented AT like it seems you're looking for.

Good experience

Had the Nexen AT8 on my 2016 when I bought it. I had a really low opinion of them and planned to replace, even though they were brand new.

After 7 months and about 10,000 miles I am still running them. My only complaints are they are not great (but are good) in the rain. I do some light off roading and trails and they have never let me down. I have never been is really deep mud. But have run lots of National Forrest Roads, creek beds, and some tougher trails. I'm in Arkansas so no experience from me on snow/ice. No real issues.

For the price they are Good but definitely not Great!

don't

I did NEXEN a few years ago on a modified toyota yaris after going through some Michelins, and oh boy how I regret it to this day! I no longer have the car but it was a huge mistake, tires didn't balance correctly and we aweful in every condition... so I learned the hard way, yes you will save money but eventually it will cost you more, I ended up replacing all 4 tires after about 5 months of use, back to Michelins... hope this helps

Thank you guys... it’s unfortunate as the reviews are
So good for this tire anywhere you look... and I’ve driven nexen passenger car tires before that weren’t too bad. But again, just wanted to hear info and reviews on the AT tires ! Thanks again! If any one else has experience with this or the other 2 tires mentioned in OP! Thanks!

I guess the cooper discoverer at3 is still in lead, then the Yokohama geolandar g015 and nexen 3rd ..

I think that's the best mindset; if you go into it not expecting them to be amazing you'll be satisfied. You'll know they're cheaper than others, etc. and may perform that way, but you're also choosing to go that route. I don't think you'd be disappointed with them after reading this thread, but I think if you were expecting the same performance, quality, etc. of $200+ each tires then you'll be disappointed.
