Yes, I sent them a letter and waiting to hear back. I should grab screen shots of the advertisement in case they pull it!

That is disappointing. It looked promising.

I just read a couple online reviews and these guys are saying no drone but looks like 4th gen. Not sure if that matters but wonder if I got a lemon?

My Borla sounds 100 times better than that thing, and has zero drone

Anyway to get some video of the sounds?
I'm so curious.

Agreed, but was curious if that NDT section actually even makes a difference in the drone. If you remove it or use the cap does the drone actually get worse or stay the same?

I can't help with either. GF wanted it gone as bad as me so I pulled it this afternoon.

Just throwing this out here.
What does not work for me maybe someones loves the sound. Many like the Gibson, Borla etc but a guy with Gibson heard my pro TRD last year and threw his in the garbage, went TRD and despite the drone, loves it and still does.
After owning V6 f150s I suppose I'm convinced now that one will never sound good. Did not expect power as it's a 4runner after all but if we could get a decent sound (in my opinion) it would be the ultimate in a runner!

A bunch of people (35 or so) did a group buy through SRQ Fabrications on the TR4.org 3rd Gen forum. A plus for this 'overland' system is that is doesn't expose the long, stock exit pipe we have to getting crushed by rocks and a lot of us were on stock 20+ year old exhaust, so a bolt-on, made in the US, stainless magnaflow system at a reduced price and free shipping made sense. I don't know that I'd bother on a modern rig.....I saw this thread listed on Recent Threads and thought it was from the 3rd gen group, as we are starting to get tracking numbers from Magnaflow.....

I don’t know man.... you didn’t like it after one day and one drive? If going from stock, anything open/performance oriented will sound loud to you.
Over time they quiet down a bit and you get use to it as well. Also, the helmholtz resonators do work, it’s mostly for higher rpms at higher freeway speeds. I had a few systems with them (not on a v6).
Also, in my experience I have yet to have or know of any performance free flowing system that didn’t drone a little at some rpm... usually around 1500, which in my truck is very brief at slow in town speeds when getting on the throttle so it doesn’t bother me, actually kinda like it.
Anyways, before we take this off the table as an option, I think we def need more longer term testing and reviews from guys who install this.
The “it was loud, I didn’t like it, took it off the same day” review just isn’t enough.
I currently have the Gibson, going on about two yrs, I can give you a very detailed review or just say “it’s garbage” (which it is).

I've had magnaflow on most my rides over the years I'm not a stranger to them. I've had the TRD system on my 19 and did not like the drone. it came on the 20 pro so had no choice but to have it again.
I think part of the issue is they push the muffler closer to the rear axle and maybe lack of insulation is sounding off in the cab?? But seriously the pulsing constant sound should be "cool" sounding not be obnoxious. It's that bad. No possible way to carry on a conversation also. The trd and every other system was not like that on day one. Maybe I got a lemon and look forward to other reviews

sucks it still drones man! from my previous experiences i'll never run anything except Borla. and only on a v8. unless it's something like an infiniti/370z. like mentioned earlier most v6's are best left quiet. The raptor exhausts sound terrible lol. Yet the explorer ST stock system sounds amazing lol.

drone doesnt go away before or after "break-in".. helmholtz does work but it seems like they didnt properly tune it to the shape, engine, exhaust material, exhaust internals etc etc. Lots of things to consider when incorporating a helmholtz..
i dont blame the guy for ripping it out.. if it drones from day 1 it will drone forever.. and its bullshit false advertising
