I installed the TRD exhaust just before thanksgiving. Frankly I wish i kept the stock one but had the side exit TRD end. The drone at speed is a bit annoying. Sounds "ok" when flooring it, but it does seem to wash out once over 3500 like its just blowing air out the end.

Can’t wait for the finished product already 😂

No matter what you do, just make sure the drive belt diagram (which is applied to the intake lid) is put somewhere easily seen.

Not to give off topic but how bad is this drone. I’ve had aftermarket exhaust before so I’m used to a drone in the exhaust in some way. Is the TRD exhaust really bad or are people saying that coming from the OEM exhaust?

There’s a lot of factors with the drone, but the main one is weight. In lifted, and have sliders and armor underneath. So by default the engine is going to put forth more effort.
If you’re stock then there probably won’t be much drone. But if you’re towing, or loaded down with gear, it’ll letcha know it’s there. I’m about to drive from the East coat to Idaho, towing a 6x12 uhaul. I’m really not looking forward to it.

Have we found a CAI that works with the URD/Whipple SC? I want to "build up" to the SC by getting a CAI from either AFE or SB, then a exhaust from AFE or Flowmaster, then the SC and Tune. I dont want to have to back track like you had too

I love my TRD exhaust over stock. Haven’t notice much of a drone with it.

Any updates on this? I wish I read this before i started the install. For now, like everyone said. It’s a tight fit. There are some kinks in the vacuum tube, wondering if that’ll be a major problem.
