Just an update.
This was taken just after the "blizzard" and grew since then, but also melted some.

It is the exact location I want to leave the "test"

Wires still "soaking".
I will add fresh product to the caps this weekend.

I am thinking it should not take more than one or two nights to get results.

One bare wire.
One coated wire.
One peanut butter wire.
One coated wire w/ peanut butter on top.

So far I only have WoolWax and Cosmoline.
Working on getting some WaxOyl for a fair price for this too.
So... any testing results to report?

I'm curious how your results end up, we see a lot of rodent damage in my area. I total at least one to two vehicles a year from rodent intrusion and damage.

Hell I just had to repair the wiring on a ignition coil on a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid with only 1200mi on it because rodents devoured it. We go through quite a bit of that Honda spicy tape, thankfully the rodents haven't developed a taste for hot stuff yet.

Keep on experimenting!

Well, @Nobody Special has gone dark. I was interested in the results of his rat-wire experiments.

Maybe the rats got him too......

I am repeating myself, but I went through that with my 911. 30,000 bucks worth of damage which insurance paid. Car was in the shop for 4-5 months. Measures I took were getting all food(dog food) out of my garage and plugging any places where rats could sneak in. I also shine a bright LED light under the engine at night and spray peppermint spray around every few days. Who knows if it matters. My 4Runner sits outside which sucks. Sometimes I spray the peppermint spray on the engine but not often enough. I also have traps everywhere but these rodents seem to be very trap wary. Have yet to catch even one rat using peanut butter and cheese as bait. I also have a small motion detection camera under the 911 in case the enemy infiltrates

Damn. That’s awful.
Repellent smelly sprays, pepper sauce on wires, bright strobe lights, ultrasonic noisemakers, snap traps, havahart cage traps, walk-the-plank water bucket devices, physical barriers, electric grids, cats… All the jokes about better mousetraps. Rodents have plagued humanity for thousands of years. There’s no perfect solution.
